Merideth: If you're in search of an affordable, functional, and very noticeable exhaust system for your 2009 to 2021 5.7-liter Toyota Tundra, this MBRP Armor Lite Single Turn Down Style Exhaust System will be right up your alley. Now, this would be perfect for the Tundra owner who wants a straightforward system to their truck to get some more aggressive sound out of their exhaust with a louder race profile, but doesn't care for the look of the exhaust system and would rather get some better clearance instead. Now, it's great if you are on the worksite or off-road frequently and want a system that you're not gonna have to worry about potentially damaging because of the high-end forward position of this system. Now, again, this is going to be a louder system when paired to the 5.7-liter V8, as you just heard. So, this is gonna get itself a four out of five on the loudness mirror with one being stock and five being wake-the-neighbors loud, making it great if you want a head-turning presence to your Tundra. Now, getting into the benefits of this system, starting with the sound, this is gonna feature a pretty significant volume increase over stock for a few different reasons. Now, one being the shortened and straight-through style design of this system and the muffler to increase the loudness and get a more aggressive V8 grumble out of the exhaust. Now, considering that this will exit before the rear axle, you will also get some interior noise especially with the volume level, but it's not going to be completely overbearing in the cab, which will be great if you are the exhaust enthusiast who likes to hear it, especially when you're getting on the pedal. Now, the configuration will also be functional when it comes to any type of off-road circumstance. Considering that this is not going to hang below the bumper, really have much potential at all to get damaged, tucking high and tight to the underbody of the truck, saving you some hassle in the long run, especially if you are harder on your truck when it comes to off-road driving. This system is gonna be very straightforward with its construction with extension piping at the front, straight-through style muffler in the middle, and the turn-down style tip all made of a 16-gauge heavy-duty aluminized steel construction. Now, the steel is going to keep this system very cost-effective and affordable compared to some other high-grade stainless options that can get very pricey, and the aluminized coating on top is going to provide a good layer of protection to resist rust over time, doing very well in drier conditions. Now, this kit will also come with all of the factory-located hangers and a straightforward installation as well as band clamps included so there's no welding or other modifications required to install this. Now, this is gonna come in at about $425 and be one of your most affordable choices in the category for an exhaust system. Now, again, this is going to be shortened and a tucked-up system that will keep it very simple which will save on price and be great if you don't need a fancier-looking system. It's also going to be one of the more aggressive options on the page if you're really looking for that volume and a cost-effective choice, making it a great option if that's what you're in search of for your Tundra.Install here will be a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and the entire process should only take about two hours or so to get the job done. Now, at this point, we can head over to our shop and check out a detailed breakdown on how you can get this onto your truck at home so that is going to wrap it up for my review. Let's go ahead and get to the install.Man 1: For this install, you will need an impact, a ratchet, 14 and 15-millimeter sockets, a hanger removal tool, some spray lubricant, some gloves for hot exhaust, eye protection. Also not shown here is a pole jack and an extra set of hands to help you with your factory setup. What's up, guys? Today, we're gonna be doing an exhaust on our Tundra but before we get started, we're gonna send you to watch a quick video on how to remove your factory exhaust and we'll see you when you get back.Man 2: All right, so before we can get started installing our new exhaust, we're gonna go ahead and get our factory one off. We're gonna show you how to do that while keeping our factory pipe intact. Obviously, if you plan on never reusing your original equipment, muffler and exhaust pipe, you can just cut it and make it a lot easier to remove off of your truck to be quite honest with you. But this is a fleet vehicle so this installation is not gonna be permanent so we're gonna show you how to get it all out in one piece. Let's go ahead and get started. The other thing I would recommend doing before you get going here, let your exhaust cool down if you've been driving your truck and also get in there with some lubricating oil and spray up the little rubber hangers. That'll make popping those metal hangers out of the rubber a lot easier. All right, now to get started, like I already said, guys, you wanna make sure everything's cooled down. These first two bolts we're gonna take out are right by a catalytic converter which gets really hot. We've been letting our truck sit for like an hour and it's still pretty warm. I also recommend having eyewear and some gloves while you work with your exhaust. Exhaust pipes tend to have sharp edges to them, not to mention the surfaces being hot as well. So let's go ahead and get these out. Our factory bolts are 14-millimeter.All right, same 14-millimeter socket for these two bolts as well. Now we're gonna have a total of four rubber hangers like this, guys, and to be quite honest with you, if you're trying to keep your pipe intact like we are, you can do these in any order that you want. We're kinda doing it the way it might be easiest for us to demonstrate for you. So we're at the one that's all the way obviously back here by our spare tire. And you might see a little bit of wetness here on the rubber. I sprayed some penetrating oil on there earlier just to let it sink in. That makes these coming off a lot easier. All right, guys, now this is the fourth out of four rubber hangers. So obviously once we pop this one loose, you gotta make sure your pipe is supported in some kind of way.Man 1: All right, guys, now that we have our factory system off, it's time to start installing our new one. Now we're gonna start with our driver-side mid-pipe. So we're gonna go to our two-bolt flange, grab our new mid-pipe. Now one thing to note is this is a good time to check on your gaskets for your flange. If they look in good working order, chances are they're fine. But for a safe measure, you might wanna grab a new set and replace them now. We're gonna send our mid-pipe up and get our hanger into our factory isolator first. Get that through. These tend to be a little bit stiff. Once you get that through, you can line this up. And we're gonna reuse our factory hardware, get these back into place. And we're just gonna loosely install these for now. Put the top one in, line the bottom one up. Then we can do the same thing for our other flange. Now we'll get our other mid-pipe on and we're gonna get that hanger rod into our factory isolator first. Push through. Now, again, you wanna reuse your factory hardware. However, ours are different due to the factory nuts getting a little messed up from many previous installs. Now we can install our muffler section. So we've got a pole jack under here to help us hold our muffler in place. We're gonna grab our two 2.5-inch clamps and slide those over our mid-pipes just to get those in place. And we'll grab our muffler and get that onto our mid-pipes. Line these up. Let these go in all the way and get fully seated. We can get this level.Next, we can install our hanger clamp for our outlet. So we've got our hanger which has a bracket on it that's gonna go onto your clamp. So you wanna pinch your 3-inch clamp but you wanna leave the washer up with the nut. Slide that through and hook that around so it sits like this. Then we can get that onto our slip joint and into our factory isolator. This may be a little bit snug going onto your slip joint so you may have to loosen it a hair. And adjust to get this into our hanger rod or isolator rather. Now that we have that in position, we can get our outlet in place. Then we'll get our outlet in which is our turned-down tip. Slide that into place. Now that we have everything loosely in place, we'll come back and start tightening everything down. So we're gonna start with our two bolt flanges and we're gonna use a 14-millimeter socket on our ratchet to tighten down our factory hardware. Again, ours for our passenger side is different but you should use your 14-mil for both sides. Now we'll tighten down our other flange. Ours we're using a 15-mil socket for our flange nuts. Now we'll get our muffler inlet clamps in place and tightened down. Slide those over our slip joint. You may need to loosen these a hair. And we'll tighten those down with our 15-mil socket on our impact. Now, to get the best seal on these, you'll notice that they are flush with the end of our slip joint. That's gonna give you the most clamping force. Then we can do our turned-down tip. Now we'll tighten down our tip clamp. Make sure that's secure. And we're good to go.All right, guys, that about does it for our review and install of our MBRP Armor Light Single Exhaust System with Turn Down Tip for your '09 to '21 5.7-liter Tundra. Thanks for watching. And as always, for everything Tundra, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.

Sounds good and its an easy install!
This exhaust kit is super easy to put in, it bolts up directly with the factory exhaust and uses the factory hanger mounts as well. Sounds really good, not much cab drone and the performance gain is noticeable!

Great tone and a lowkey look
Wanted a well made exhaust that didn’t interrupt the silhouette of my truck. There are a few others on the market but as far as look, 10/10. Sound wise, you definitely get that drone with an underbody exit but it’s not unbearable. Sound is a 9/10 for me.

bad***ery
sharp looking and clean. i wanted it tucked up and out of the way for overlanding. I also love the sound. not over the top, but can still hear it.

Real truck sound
This exhaust is not the out of this world system, but it gives you the real truck sound right off the bat. Easy to install. Very simple to adjust. Perfect size. You will not see it protruding unless you duck under your truck. Almost no droning at highway speeds. Not too loud but not too low either. Perfect pitch for a real truck sound.

Good enough for the price
Much louder compared to stock. Install was fairly simple. Definitely has drone in the 1800-2000 rpm range especially driving on the freeway. Also has a little bit of rasp in the higher rpm whenever you do a pull. Overall, 4/5 star.

MBRP Exhaust
Just installed this MBRP 3” exhaust on my 2019 5.7 Tundra. First off easiest exhaust kit install I have ever done everything fit/ lined up perfectly! Took me less than an hour to get the old stock exhaust out and the new MBRP in. The sound is great not too crazy but still quite loud, 10/10 would buy again!

Sounds great.
Been on for about a year and it's still holding up. The fit is good and it sounds great but I do get that "droning" on the highway. I'll take it though. Way better than paying someone to do the job. It went on very easily and like I said, it does sound great.
