What is the Difference Between a Regular Jeep and a Jeep Rubicon?

Have you ever wondered what having a Rubicon Wrangler actually means? First of all, a Rubicon Wrangler means more than a decal on the side of the hood. In essence, the Rubicon Wranglers are the most off-road capable Jeeps right out of the box. But despite their off-road prowess, Rubicons are modded more frequently than their stock counterparts.

Having been introduced for the TJ Wranglers, the Rubicon trim level has been offered every year since 2003, and are expected to be an option for the upcoming JL Wranglers. So what exactly are the differences between stock and Rubicon Wranglers?

Rubicon Enhancements

First of all, Rubicons have that sweet decal mentioned earlier. They also come with front and rear Dana 44 differentials with selectable lockers and 4:10 gear ratio, an ultra low-range 4:1 transfer case. The TJ Rubes came with 16-inch Rubicon rims, Goodyear mud terrain tires, diamond plate rocker armor, and red shocks.

The JK Wrangler Rubes feature anniversary bumpers, Rubicon rock rails, 32-inch BF Goodrich mud terrain or all terrain, and different colored shocks.
