How to Install Tuffy Locking Cubby Cover (07-18 Wrangler JK) on your Jeep Wrangler

  • Box Cutter
  • 1/8" Allen Wrench
  • 1/2" Socket Wrench
  • 1/2" Wrench/ Crescent Wrench
  • Torque Wrench (Optional)

1. Carefully open the package using a box cutter or knife (Figure A) and ensure the cubby cover and hardware are included and undamaged.


2. Unclip the tethering mechanism from the factory cubby cover (Figure B).


3. Pull up and away from the rear of the vehicle to remove the cover (Figure C).


4. Sit the Tuffy locking cubby cover in place of the factory cubby cover just removed (Figure D).


5. Mount the cubby cover into place using a 1/8" Allen wrench and the supplied 10/32 x 1/2 screws and #10 washers (Figure E).


6. Slide the lock bracket under the opening to the rear of the vehicle (Figure F).


7. Place the lock bracket clamp on top of the location of the lock bracket (Figure G).


8. Install the lock bracket and lock bracket clamp into place by placing the supplied 5/16" x 7/8" bolts, 5/16" washers onto the lock bracket clamp and tightening the 5/16" washers and 5/16" locknuts under the lock bracket using a 1/2" socket wrench and 1/2" wrench (Figure H). Torque to 15 ft-lbs.


9. Close the cubby cover over the lock bracket clamp and ensure locking mechanism works properly (Figure I).
