How to Install Teraflex Steering Box Skid Plate on your 1997-2006 Wrangler

1. Remove the driver side lower bumper bolt, and the front lower steering box bolt.

2. Place the skid plate in place, positioning it over the two bolt holes now exposed.

3. With the skid plate positioned correctly, replace the bumper bolt, and steering box bolt.

4. Use flat washers to correct the spacing of skid plate when using stock bumper.

5. With the skid plate in place, locate the remaining hole in the ear of the skid plate. Using the hole as a guide, use a center punch to mark the location on the round cross member.

6. Use a 5/16” drill bit to drill the location you just marked on the cross member.

7. With the supplied self-tapping bolt, secure the final corner of the skid plate to the cross member.
