Very pleased with a “real” big brake upgrade kit from Tera Flex. Previously bought what was advertised as a big brake kit from another company turned out to be nice rotors with remanufactured stock calipers painted red.

Quick easy install. These are a huge improvement over stock setup. Finish on the calipers seems good. Definitely can feel the difference when braking.

JKU Big Brakes

This kit was easy to install. Be quick when you pull the brake line off the old caliper to minimize fluid loss. You may need pliers to hold the banjo bolt washers and then turn the bolt with your ratchet to get them off. Once broken in, they made a big improvement over the stock brakes with my 37x13.5 tires.

Nice upgrade after adding bigger tires.

I added 35x12.50x17 tires to my 2016 JKU and I didn't feel confident when stopping. It seemed like I needed more room and to really stand on the brake pedal to stop. I also started having an issue with my OEM front brake calipers sticking to the rotors. Instead of just replacing the OEM calipers, I added this Teraflex big brake kit (front only) and it has made a big difference. I feel like I have more stopping power and don't have to bear down on the brake pedal to to stop. I chose the non-slotted rotors because if you do any off roading, the slotted rotors will get dirt and debris stuck in the slots/holes and affect your stopping power and possibly wear your pads out quicker. Also, be sure to follow the break in procedure for your new pads. I'm really glad I spent the money for this upgrade. Teraflex also has a great YouTube video that walks you through the steps to replace your OEM brakes and I did mine in my driveway on a Saturday afternoon.

Unbelievable Braking!!!

This kit arrived in perfect condition with excellent packaging. Inventory showed all parts were present and accounted for. Fit and finish were exemplary and is a testament to Teraflex's engineering and design efforts! Install was a breeze if you pay attention to the picture ridden instructions. Anyone can install this and if you can't then you don't belong in a Jeep. :) Note: pay close attention to the calipers, and the notes on where the bleed valve should be because they are side specific. These big break kits are for lifted jeeps with bigger tires so there should be no problems with brake line lengths since most lift kits come with new and longer brake lines. That is unless you mount them on the wrong side. :(

Teraflex Front Brakes

With having the brake parts professionally installed, all fit well except the front break lines. Installer said the brake fluid fitting location on the new dual piston calipers did not allow flexing when making sharp turns. ET or Teraflex should make it clear that new brake lines should allows be sold with new dual calipers. I was shorted pad clips as well and the whole order was fouled up during the holidays. No braking difference. This larger break idea was fed to me as the thing to do if you plan to install larger tires, seems not true and a waste of coin. LB
