Important Notes:
Prior to beginning this or any installation read these instructions to familiarize yourself with the required steps and evaluate if you are experienced and capable to personally perform these modifications.
Refer to the parts list to ensure that all necessary components and hardware has been included. If any parts are missing please contact your local retailer for assistance.
1. Lift the hood and place it against the windshield frame. Place rags between the
hood and the windshield frame to protect the paint.
2. Remove the brake fluid level sensor connector from the reservoir by pulling back on the red clip then squeezing the end to remove the connector.
3. Place a stack of rags under the brake lines to collect the brake fluid drainage.
4. Remove the two mounting nuts that attach the master cylinder to the brake booster using a 13mm deep well socket.
5. Move the master cylinder towards the front of the vehicle roughly 1/2” to release the piston pressure.( If the booster is holding the master in with the vacuum pressure you can remove the check valve at the booster to release the suction from the master.) Remove the brake lines from the master using a 12mm wrench.
6. Remove the master cylinder from the vehicle. Make sure that the O-ring seal stays on the master and does not get into the booster.
7. Install the new master into the vehicle. Make sure that there is an O-ring seal on the master cylinder where it mounts to the booster. Install the brake lines to the new master.
8. After the brake lines are installed into the new master cylinder, install the mounting nuts that secure the master cylinder to the brake booster. Torque to 13 Ft-lbs.
9. Remove the reservoir cap and fill the reservoir completely with DOT 3 brake fluid.
10. Leave the cap off and loosen the brake lines at the master to let the brake fluid bleed through the master. Tighten the brake lines once the reservoir is at operating level. Remove the rags and clean everything with brake cleaner.
11. Reinstall the fluid level sensor connector and reservoir cap.
12. Check the brake pedal feel by pumping the pedal with the engine off. Then start the engine to make sure that the booster is working correctly.
13. Check for any leaks at the fittings. Re check fluid level after 300 miles.
