Lost hood worries solved
Great job with these guys. No more feeling like I’m going to lose my hood over the back of my jeep on the interstate. Used to be scared to go over 70MPH before I changed these out. Keeps hood tight. About an hour to install and look hood.

Works so far
They are aesthetically pleasing and have completely stopped the hood from flapping on the highway. They are in a pretty tight spot to get to but by removing the grill and then the headlights, i was able to install them and put it all back together in a little over 20 minutes.

Satisfied
Rubber and screws only. Not the complete buckle. Easy to install. I used loctite on secure. The little splash of color is cool. They've been installed for apprx 3 weeks with no issues.

2015 Rubicon - Paladion
Very Fragile
Installation was easy enough. Requires using existing brackets which don't seem to be quite the right size for these latches, but the fit isn't so tight as to be unusable. The problem came after install; the latches were too fragile to handle being tightened down during install. I tightened them just enough so that there wasn't any noticeable play in them when the hood was closed. The following morning, one of the latches had cracked and broken off. The other latch did not appear damaged, but that was most likely due to latch tension being reduced since one side of the hood was now loose. I was forced to reinstall the factory latches and ordered a new all metal latch kit.

Stein Hager Hood latch
Save your money and buy an Aluminium latch. This is just two pieces of plastic and 4 screws. You have to use your existing brackets. This is not worth the money. ET return wAs easy and I got a good one shipped in 10 min.

ITs NOT a ""KIT""
I'm SURE that the ''Steinjager Hood Latch Kit'' in Poly Red Is a GREAT PRODUCT for WHAT it is DESIGNED FOR ~ BUT ~ IT is NOT a KIT ! UNLIKE ALL the OTHER HOOD LAYCHES SOLD on E.T. ~ THIS IS THE ONLY ONE that DID NOT SHOW WHAT YOU ACTUAL WHERE PURCHASING ! MY "FIRECRACKER RED" JEEP HOOD LATCH was OBLITERATED by a TREE BRANCH THIS SUMMER ! And I NEEDED to REPLACE IT ~ WELL, EVEN AFTER a LENGTHY CONVERSATION with a REP... IT WAS *NOT* WHAT I WANTED or NEEDED ! IT IS TWO POLY RED STRAPS ~ PERIOD ! IT IS NOT A ""Hood Latch Kit"" as STATED ! The DESCRIPTION IS SO VAGUE that EVEN the REP DIDN'T REALIZE THAT IT WAS INCOMPLETE ! BUT ~ EXTREME TERRAIN ~ TOOK CARE of ME ! And ACTUALLY SENT ME an ACTUAL ~ COMPLETE "Hood Latch Kit" ! EVEN THOUGH It was in ALL BLACK and I WOULD HAVE PREFERRED to have the RED/BLACK COMBO on MY RED JEEP..... ~ Im JUST GLAD MY HOOD DOESN'T ""flutter"" ANYMORE ! THANK YOU EXTREME TERRAIN !
