Installation Instructions:
1. Drive Jeep JK Wrangler onto lift or ramps being sure to keep the front wheels straight. If using ramps, leave Jeep in 1st gear if equipped with manual transmission or Park if equipped with Automatic transmission. Apply emergency break and disconnect cable from Negative battery post and Chock back wheels. Below is a picture of Drag link and Adjusting sleeve before work.
2. When the Jeep JK Wrangler is in position on lift or ramps, remove the Drag link Nut at the knuckle with 21mm wrench, which will be on the inside on passenger side wheel. After nut is removed disconnect Drag link from knuckle.
3. After the Drag link has been disconnected from knuckle, loosen the clamp nuts and remove the adjusting sleeve
4. After removing adjusting sleeve, the short end of Drag link should still remain attached to Pitman arm
5. Take the Griffin Attenuator and thread it onto on to the short Drag link end until the threads are coupled to short Drag link.
6. The Griffin Attenuator becomes the adjusting sleeve,while holding the long end of the Drag link,turn the Griffin Attenuator until the Drag link stud fits into the knuckle hole.The Drag link should be as long as it was before adding the Griffin Attenuator.
7. Make sure that both ends of drag link are equally engaged into the Griffin Attenuator.
8. Torque Drag Link nut at knuckle to 63 ft.-lb. note: ball joint stud will turn while trying to tighten nut, hold stud on top with 7mm Allen wrench while tightening nut with 21mm wrench.
9. Torque the Griffin Attenuator clamp nuts to 35-40 ft.-lb.
10. Torque Drag link nut at pitman arm to 77 ft.-lb.
11. Connect cable to Negative battery post.
12. Test Drive Jeep JK Wrangler If steering wheel is not centered while driving, the Electronic stability Control (ESC) will come on when the Jeep JK Wrangler gets above 30mph. If steering wheel is not centered loosen Griffin Attenuator clamp nuts, and adjust Griffin Attenuator until steering wheel becomes centered.
