NOTE: Depending on what your vehicle is equipped with; remove your hardtop and or soft top including entire bow assembly. It is also recommended to remove the softop pivot brackets that are installed on the sport bar using a # 30 Torx. This part must be used in conjunction with Smittybilt Tonneau Cover (Part# 7613xx)
Step 2: Attach the rear of the extension to your tonneau by connecting the zippers. (The Rear of the extension has snaps on it.) Fig A
Step 3: Slide the two straps in the front center of the extension piece down under and through the inside bracket of each front seat and secure with buckle. (Fig B, C) Do not fully tighten.
Step 4: If using extension in conjunction with windbreaker attach the extension to the windbreaker at this time by connection the zippers. (Fig D)
Step 5: Secure the front corners of the extension by connecting the hook on the rear of the front door jam. (Fig E) Pull straps tight. Note: make sure strap goes between the seat belt and pillar.
Step 7: Now secure the previously installed center straps by pulling snug.
Step 8: (Optional) If you want to add the snap connections to your tonneau, pull the flap on the extension tight towards the back. Mark the locations of the snaps on the tonneau using chalk or grease marker. Fold the flap back and install the included male snaps on the tonneau by inserting the screw through the snap head and then through the tonneau. Secure with the included acorn nuts. Once all are installed;snap the extension flap onto the tonneau. (Fig F)
Step 9: Make sure all zippers and straps are secured. Installation is now complete.
INSTALLATION TIPS
1. It is recommended to install this part when temperatures are above 72 degrees F. The material can contract an inch or more making it difficult to install, especially the first time. It is designed to be tight to eliminate flapping.
2. Any wrinkles will eventually go away once the material is “relaxed”
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Wash cover with warm water and non abrasive soap. The zippers should be lubricated regularly to keep them running smoothly
