The Jeep in these instructions is a 2015 Wrangler 4 Door without sidesteps or rock rails installed from the factory
Installation Instructions:
Step One: Unbox the rock rails/step and remove all packaging.
Step Two: Identify the rock rails/step in the picture above. Driver side is on the left. Passenger side is on the right.
Step Three: Identify the 6 existing holes in the pinch weld (2 front, 2 center, 2 back) and the 3 pre-threaded holes that come from the factory***
Step Four: Take the driver side rock rail/step and loosely attach it to the jeep by lining up the 6 tabs on the rock rails with the already existing holes on the pinch weld area on your jeep.
Step Five: Insert 3 - 8 x 35mm hex bolt with 8mm flat washer into the pre-threaded holes from the factory and 6 - 6mm Ny-lock Nut with 6 - 6mm flat washers onto the bracket studs that go through the pinch weld.
Step Six: Now proceed to tighten all of the bolts and nuts completely using the 10mm socket wrench with ΒΌβ rachet for the hex bolts and the 13mm socket wrench with 3/8β rachet for the lock nuts.
Step Seven: Now that the driver side is done step back and take at look and admire your work.
Step Eight: Follow these same steps starting at Step Four to help assit you in installing the passenger side rock rail/step.
***Note: As stated in Step Three my jeep has pre-threaded holes from the factory, on some 2012 and older models you will use the nut-clip setup provided by Smittybilt with 10mm bolts. There will be an open cavity area in the bottom of the body tub. You will install the nut-clips the same way the 8mm bolts were installed
You have now sucessfully installed the Smittybilt SRC Classic Rock Rail(OEM Style) W/Step for a 2007-2015 Jeep Wrangler JKU 4 Door. Thanks for using my install guide and Enjoy!!
