1. All Smittybilt Windbreakers are pre-fit at the factory. Please note that in order to provide long term fit, Smittybilt designs each top to fit very tight on the initial installation. Please make sure it is at least 70 degrees F. when you first install this top or it will be very difficult to install. If you use a hair dryer to warm the fabric, the install will be easier.
2. The top may seem wrinkled when first installed; this is caused by the fabric becoming wrinkled during shipping. The fabric and the wrinkles will relax after a few days installed on the vehicle.
Installation Instructions
1. Place Wind Breaker inside of roll bar with the gray side (underside) facing forward (Figure 1). On the top and sides of the roll bar, wrap straps with buckles around the roll bar. Bring straps without buckles around the other side of the bar. Feed the straps through the buckles loosely (Figures 2, 3, & 4). After all straps are attached to the roll bar, tighten all straps to prevent flapping.
NOTE: Steps 2-5 (Optional) secure the bottom of the Wind Breaker for easy use of the Pass-through Port.
2. Center the Footman Loops on the floor below the Wind Breaker’s bottom straps (Figure 1).
3. Use the mounting holes in the Footman Loops as guides to drill 1/8” holes in the floor. Be careful not to drill into fuel lines, brake wires, or other important connections.
4. Use the sheet metal screws to secure the Footman Loops down to the floor.
5. Feed the bottom straps through the Footman Loops to the buckles on the Wind Breaker; then tighten.
NOTE: To open the Pass-through Port; unzip, roll it up, wrap the hanging strap under it, and snap to the male snap on the other side. When the port is closed, the strap can be snapped to itself to quiet it.
Warning: this top is designed to protect you from the elements only and is not designed to keep you inside the vehicle in the event of an accident. Always fasten your seat belt.
