How to Install Smittybilt N-Fab Nerf Steps - Textured Black (07-18 Wrangler JK 4 Door) on your Jeep Wrangler

CAREFULLY READ EACH STEP BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL. ALL 2012 AND NEWER JEEP JK'S REQUIRE THE USE OF AN ADDITIONAL BRACKET AS EXPLAINED IN THE FINAL NOTE AND SHOWN IN FIGURE 3. 

Step 1: Find both the driver and passenger side steps. Note: The passenger side front step is father away from the bend and the holes will line up to the bracket on the floor pan. See Figure 1. 

Step 2: Using the supplied bolts, install the step bar starting with the bolts in the pinch weld and then install the bolts on the underside. Note: Leave all of the bolts loose until all bolts are in place and tighten the bolts in the pinch weld first. 

3: Repeat theprocess for theother side. 

Note: Part number J1246 requires the use of an additional bracket. There is a 3/8" alien head welded into the bracket and the head of it fits into a factory void hole. See Figure 3. The front of the bracket is held in with one of the supplied hex head bolts and the rear is secured using one of the supplied self-taping screws. This must be installed prior to the Nerf-Step being secured to the vehicle.
