How to Install Smittybilt G.E.A.R. Trail Shade on your Jeep Wrangler

1. Remove all the contents from the carrier bag (Figure A).

2. Locate the three male/female clasp on the shade and unclasp each (Figure B).

3. Locate the buckle on each of the three straps removed from the shade in Step 2 (Figure C).

4. Remove strap entirely from each buckle. Then, once completed, slide the strap through each of the top three rim holes of the spare tire (Figure D).

5. With all three in place, tighten each down (Figure E).


6. Reattach the shade by clipping each of the male/female clasps back in place (Figure F).

7. Ensure all three have equal separation (Figure G).

8. Locate the two poles and utilize the shock cords to assemble (Figures H & I).

9. Slide the thin end of each pole into the hole on each end of the shade (Figure J).

10. Run the rope over the thin end of each pole (Figure K).

11. Using a mallet or hammer, hammer the rope into the ground at an angle using the supplied stakes (Figure L).
