Description
Enables Safe and Secure Mounting of Axe or Shovel. With the Smittybilt Defender Roof Rack Axle & Shovel Mount, you don’t have to worry about how you are going to fit your axe or shovel into your Jeep Wrangler, or whether it would be any harm doing so. Rather, you can fasten either tool to your roof rack safety and securely.
Heavy-Duty Manufacture. With components made entirely of steel, this mounting kit is designed for longevity. In addition to being hard to break, bend, or fade, the mounting kit is finished with a black coat to keep rust away.
Covered by 30-Day Limited Warranty. Smittybilt guarantees the workmanship of this axe and shovel mount for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase.
Medium-Level Installation. This axe and shovel mount comes with all the hardware needed for completing installation, which should take about an hour of your time.
Application. The Smittybilt Defender Roof Rack Axle & Shovel Mount w/ Adapter Brackets fits all 1966-2023 Jeep CJ and Wrangler. Shipped with a black finish, it is sold as a kit.

Axe and shovel mount.
Originally purchased for my defender roof rack but ordered part without mounting bracket so I repurposed the mount and placed it in the bed of my truck and reordered the proper part. Works great secured shovel and axe well. Very satisfied.

Very happy
Very happy to finally have this. It works well to hold both a shovel and axe, but splitting maul is too big. It works great with the defender roof rack. The powder coating looks good as well, and I'd give the welds a 7/10, so I think it'll last for a while. Only time will tell. Overall I'm very happy with it. I just wish I'd purchased it before they went out of stock and jumped $25ish bucks in price. Still a good value for the money though.
