How to Install a Rugged Ridge Throttle Body Spacer, 3.6L on your 2012-2014 Wrangler JK

Item List:
(1) Aluminum Spacer
(1) Gasket
(2) M6 x 60 Shank bolts (Long)
(2) M6 X 55 Shank bolts (Short)
(4) M6 Flat Washer


Step 1: Engine Must Be Cool. Remove engine cover

Step 2: unscrew 3” hose clamp at air intake box and throttle body.

Step 3: Remove the (2) M10 bolts securing intake tube to top of radiator. Place off to the side. Do not disconnect air sensor.


Step 4: Remove (4) T-20 Torx head bolts from throttle body. DO NOT DISCARD. Bolts should be reused if vehicle is to be returned to factory configuration at a later date. .

Step 5: Remove throttle body and set below intake. Clean intake and throttle body.

Step 6: Place Spacer and gasket onto intake manifold with notch facing toward the front of the vehicle.


Step 7: Place Throttle body onto spacer making sure gasket is seated correctly in throttle body flange. Install the top M6 x 55 (short) shank bolts and washers. Start threads but do not tighten.

Step 8: Install lower M6 x 60 (long) shank bolts and washers. Start threads and inspect gasket position. Carefully tighten bolts working in a cross pattern. Snug bolts but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.

Step 9: Reinstall air tube. Installation is the reversal of steps (1-3). Check to make sure tube air sensor has not been disconnected before starting engine.
