      Description

The stock tailgate hinges on your Jeep are notoriously weak, so if yours are broken or failing, now's the time to replace them with this far stronger and higher quality Tailgate Hinge Set from Rugged Ridge. Made of stainless steel and painted black with a powder coating, these hinges are designed to resist corrosion of all kind, even as they sit out in harsh weather all year. They add a nice customized touch to the exterior of your rig, complementing any other mods you've put on. You can also ditch the OE hardware, because this set contains a fresh set.

      Construction. Both tailgate hinges are made of stainless steel, which resists rust and other forms of corrosion. The semi-gloss black powdercoating not only looks great, it provides another line of defense against corrosion, so you can really rely on the hinges to last a long time. Both are made to OE specs, meaning they fit perfectly. The included hardware is painted to match the hinges.

      Installation. To take on this job, you'll need a socket wrench set. It's a fairly direct task, but you'll need at least an hour to make sure you can line everything up. The new hinges bolt on at the exact same points as the old ones, so pay attention to the setup when removing the OE parts. Before tightening the hardware all the way, you need to check that the tailgate raises and lowers all the way, plus can latch and lock.

      Application. This Tailgate Hinge Set is designed to work with Jeep Wranglers from the 1987-1995 model years.
