How to Install Rugged Ridge Spartan Nerf Side Step Bars - Textured Black (97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ, Excluding Unlimited) on your Jeep Wrangler

- 5/8” or 16mm Sockets
- Torque Wrench
- Breaker Bar

Note: A breaker bar is recommended to remove body mount bolts
Installation Instructions:
1. Starting with the passenger side, remove the 3 body mount bolts and bushings and set aside (located underneath the Jeep, on each side, between the front and rear wheel).
2. Install the factory bolts and bushings onto the center and rear brackets of the passenger side nerf bar with the bushings on top of the mounting brackets and the screws on the bottom.

3. Carefully raise the nerf bar up into position aligning the center and rear brackets with the factory mounts and thread the bolts loosely to hold the bar in place (A second pair of hands is very helpful).

4. Install the front bushing and bolt, making sure the round opening in the nerf bar mount fits around the upper body bushing properly before tightening loosely (This may take some adjustment and loosening of the center and rear bolts).
5. Starting with the center bracket, use a torque wrench to tighten the bolt to 50 ft/lbs. Continue with the front and rear bolt, tightening them both to 50 ft/lbs.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for the driver side.
