Description
Specs. This hood louver system for your JK Wrangler takes some work to install, including cutting a hole in your hood and drilling mounting holes, but looks great and causes proper airflow through the engine compartment, cooling it so that it works better and parts get reduced heat soaking when your engine shuts off.
Construction. Rugged Ridge's hood vent insert is precision-fabricated from steel, and finished with a matte black powder coat to ensure its full corrosion resistance. The part weighs 12.3 pounds and involves advanced installation, requiring use of a drill, a sheet metal hole saw, and other tools. This fixture is protected by a 5 year limited warranty from the manufacturer, Rugged Ridge.

Well made product
I have been trying to find a solution to my overheating problem for a couple of months without blowing the bank on a brand-new hood, and man is this a game changer. It is a very well-made hood vent and has great hardware for installation. The template provided is great and makes the cutting and drilling process a breeze. the only thing that i would recommend is to ditch the screws and stick to the bolts and nuts provided.

Clean and easy install. I wish the material was a little more resilient because the big louver seems to be bent easy. But overall very happy. Fits and looks great.

Good look for factory hoods.
Had to get rid of my DV8 hood since it completely rusted out in the 2 yrs I had it due to poor design and DV8 didnt care after it started 6 months from purchase. Went back to factory hood and put this louver in. Was bent out of the box on one corner but didnt feel like putting the rusted hood back on so we tried to straighten it the best we could. Took about 4 hrs or so since we had to take off the DV8 hood, refit the factory hood, straighten the louver corner and then everything required to install of the louver. Much cheaper than spending another $1200+ for another hood and have it painted.
