Male 1: This Rugged Ridge Etched Lower 5 Switch Panel Kit is for those of you that have a 2011 to 2018 JK with the automatic transmission, that are looking for a sleek way to be able to install five switches in your Jeep. I personally really like the A-pillar switch panels, but if you find them distracting or difficult to reach, this is going to be another great option for you. This puts the switches in a very easy to reach spot, and it gives you the five switches with the kit which makes the install that much easier. This is going to be still a two out of three wrench installation because obviously there's a lot of wiring to do to get all these switches hooked up. However, actually getting the switch panel installed is going to be very, very simple, and we'll talk more about that in just a second. So like I said, you have a couple of different choices when you're looking at switch panel locations. If you have an automatic '11 to '18, this is gonna to be a pretty good spot for you. You have your shifter, your switches are going to be directly in front of that, so they are going to be very, very simple to reach. Now this does come with the five switches, they're gonna be a nice high quality switch and they do have the etch cover on them. You wanna make sure before you purchase this kit that what's noted on the front of the switch is going to sync up with what you actually need it for. If you have a compressor and lockers, this is not going to do it for you, but this does give you a light bar, also some off-road lights, and then a couple of novelty switches that you can use and wire up. You can with these switches actually pop the cover off and get different covers, if you choose to do that, that way you can still use the switch and just change out the cover for something that you need it to say on it. But, that is one thing to consider. You can just get this panel without the switches if you would rather do that. So you have a couple of choices. But for a kit that includes a panel, that's a very easy install and really just matches seamlessly with the interior of your Jeep and that includes the five switches, I think this is a pretty good deal. As for construction, this panel is designed to replace an existing factory panel on your Jeep, making the install very, very simple. And as I eluded to before, this has a factory texture to it, so it's going to blend in seamlessly with the rest of your interior. And that's what this is really all about. You want something that looks like it could've been installed in your Jeep out of the factory. So you're going to have your five switch holes in the top here. These do not come pre-punched. You cut these out, just with a sharp razor knife you can cut those out, and that allows you to cut out whichever switch holes you want and install whatever switches you want in them. So you have a little bit of flexibility there. The switches that come with this kit, again, they are going to be a high quality switch, they could be a lighted switch. So it's going to have three different contacts on the back, three different terminals, so you're going to have your power-in and your power-out, and also a ground and that allows the switch itself to be lit. I mentioned before I think this kit is very fairly priced. You're gonna pay only $60 for the switch panel and the five switches. So as long as the etched covers on the switches are applicable for what you want to use your switching for, or you're willing to pop these covers off and install other ones when you need them, this is going to be an excellent kit. If you don't want the switches, you have your own switches, you want something that's a little bit more specialized toward what you're using, you can get just the switch panel for even less. And now, a member of our install team will show you how to get this installed. Male 2: Now the first thing you're gonna wanna do when you're inside the Jeep is put it in drive as well as four-low. You're also gonna wanna pull your e-brake because you will not be in park, and if you have any type of an incline, you will roll. The next thing you're gonna wanna do is pop the tabs on the side of your center console, and move it back a little bit to free up some space. Once you have your center console back, you're gonna go ahead and give your netting a little pull here, just enough so you can get your trim tool behind the panel. Apply light pressure to all of the clips and pull right out. Alright, guys, the first thing you're gonna wanna do when installing this is determine how many switches you will be using. You do not have to use all five spots, but for our purpose today, we will be using them. Once you've determined which spots you will be using, you're gonna grab yourself a sharp X-ACTO knife, or in my case a pocket knife that will work just as well. You'll begin by cutting on the perforated lines. Once you've cut all the way around, you're gonna go ahead and pop it out. You will repeat this process for however many spots you need. Once you have your switch panel locations cut out, go back and just make sure you have smooth edges around where your switches will be going. Just go around with your knife and try and cut off any rugged edges. Once you have your edges smoothed out, you're gonna go ahead and put your switches in. To do this is very simple, they have little tabs that lock right in. Now you can put these switches in whatever order you would like, but we're gonna go in order as you see on the table. Once your switch is installed, you will hear it click into place. Now that your last switch is installed, we're gonna go ahead and install it on the Jeep. To do that, it's the reverse process of how we removed the factory one. You're gonna peel off the double-sided tape here, line it up with the two tabs. Once your two lower tabs are lined up, you're gonna go ahead and push it forward. It's gonna clip in. Once your switch panel's installed, you're gonna go ahead and reassemble your center console. To do that, put it back into place and apply light pressure, and you will hear it click back in. Next thing you're gonna do is put your car back in park and take it out of four-low. And that wraps up our review at install. For more videos like this, check us out at extremeterrain.com.
