How to Install a Rough Country Steering Box Brace on your Jeep Wrangler

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Loosely install the steering brace as shown in Photo 1 to steering box with supplied 3/8” u-bolts and hardware. Torque to 10 ft/lbs.

2. Position the steering brace over the stock holes in the frame and install the two 7/16” x 3 1/2” bolts with the supplied crush sleeves through the frame as shown in Photo 2.



3. Check to make sure the steering brace does not interfere with the pitman arm and tighten all fasteners.


POST INSTALLATION

1. Check all fasteners for proper torque. Check to ensure there is adequate clearance between all rotating, mobile, fixed and heated members. Check steering for interference and proper working order.

2. Re torque all fasteners after 500 miles. Visually inspect components and re torque fasteners during routine vehicle service.
