Made from 3/16-inch durable steel, the Rock-Slide Engineering Step-Slider Skid Plates are designed to provide superior protection to your step sliders. They come in textured black powder coated finish that guards it against corrosion and premature wear, so you can rest assured that you will be using them for a long time.
Practical and Convenient. These skid plates are precision engineered to exactly match the specifications of your step sliders. They come with a cutout for your automatic sliders to allow them to continue functioning even with additional layer. Step Slider Armor
The Rock Slide Engineering Gen 3 Power Step Rock Sliders is a great product to begin with. Protecting that investment with the armor skid plates and adding the light kit are two great ways to make them more durable and a complete kit. I used a small riding lawn mower lift to make this a one-man installation. Otherwise, you’ll likely need two. Simple installation and looks great!

A really good product
rock slide side steps fit flawless installed by my self worked 2 half days one for each side plug and play wiring was super simple no drilling all holes lined up, good job rock slide. Besides saving rocker panels,and being a very useful step they sit about even with front and rear fenders thus will save my jeep from rock chips and or road debris damage making these a good bang for your buck in my opinion

The Jeep is my wife's but she chooses the accessories. She saw these and the next thing I know, i'm doing the install. Fantastic addition to the steps! Installation took a little work to align all the holes, but once that was done, whacko, and install pretty much complete!

Adds strength to your steps
I added these to my '21 JLU Rock-Slide Steps. I was able to get them on with my WFO 4.5" long-arm kit with some notching around the rear lower control arm bolts. These would be better if they updated the method to hold them on. They use Aluminum Rivets and Carriage Bolts. If they had some captured nuts along the top to replace the rivets it would be much stronger and easier to install. I'll likely make this update when I pull them off next year after a few trips to straighten and paint them. Hopefully they will protect the steps as they are meant to.

Just in case...
Fits good, good design (3.0) and relatively easy to install. I had to use a jack to massage it in place and line up the rivet holes perfectly on the 1st side I installed. On the 2nd I installed rivets first then bolts and it worked better. For the price of the sliders and skid plates combined its ridiculous and should just come this way.

Gen 3 Skid plates added to Gen 3 steps
These skid plates do not come with instructions, but it's a pretty straight forward install. There were a couple of blemishes in the powder coat finish, but after all my previous hoopla (Received Gen 2 skid plates & had to return & re-order correct ones) I just forged ahead with the install. Installation instructions can be found on the RockSlide web site (PDF), but those instructions DO NOT reveal that for my 2022 JL Wrangler the 3rd carriage bolt (front) is NOT needed. Just the two front standard bolds, rivets & two carriage bolts mid & rear attachment locations. But they sure do look nice when installed! I was able to get them on, using a 5-gallon bucket for my "extra hands" while running bolts. Took a little over an hour for me, moving nice and slow.

Absolutely necessary
I love the RSE retractable steps. The door delete kit is a required accessory if you run with doors off and want the added safety of turning off the steps and or using them when you remove the doors. Everything is included for your 2-door and 4-door JKU. The only downside that you will have to go to the YouTube video for installation instructions, as none are included in the package. Installation is pretty easy and takes about an hour by the time you remove some trim panels, route, and tie down the wires. I did not use the provided switch brackets, but instead drilled a hole on both sides of the Jeep in the forward facing direction of the lower B-pillar plastic trim pieces. An easy reach down to activate the switch while driving or standing outside the Jeep.

Good Concept But...
I purchased the Rock-Slide Engineering Basic Rack to add additional fuel storage and a propane tank. They are able to carry the additional gear as advertised, but the part I didn't understand is why do the pre-drilled holes on the racks not line-up with any of the RotoPax or PowerTank propane tank brackets; those appear to be standardize but to mount them on my the EZ Rack I had to drill an additional set of hole, not a huge deal, but you'd think it would have come that way from the factory?

I was considering remove my running boards but these preserve them as well as looking super cool. I recommend these to anyone less mobile as they age but still wanting to go off roading

Fit and look perfect.
These fit perfect and look really great. They were easy to install if you have a nutsert install tool. They did not come with any kind of tool and half of the nutserts were 3/8 and half were 5/16, but all of the bolts were 5/16. A trip to the hardware store kept things on track, but added another $15 to the install.
