Lifted set-ups or using larger tires require higher ring and pinion ratios to enhance your JL’s power, torque, and overall ground dynamics.
Re-Gearing. With larger tires, the drivetrain must work harder in order to move your vehicle. By re-gearing, you will increase the amount of force that is being sent to the axle and this allows your Jeep to move the tires with less strain on the engine. This will also consequently improve your fuel economy.
