Jake: Hey, everyone. Jake here for ExtremeTerrain, and in this video we're taking a look at the C&L Performance Front Brake Calipers, in Red, fitting 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. Now, you don't wanna mess around with things when it comes to your brakes. As your JK ages, or gets more miles piled onto it, your calipers can get tired, just like the rest of your braking system. If that is the case, these calipers from C&L will get you stopping on a dime once more. These are a fully bolt-on part, that will work with your stock brakes without modifications. They provide you with a nice pop of color, and they're gonna cost you a lot less than a replacement from Mopar themselves. Now, despite how they might look, brake calipers actually aren't super-complicated. There's a few slide pins, some pistons, and some seals, but if any one of those components wears out or starts leaking, that's no good. Now, this is a set of completely refreshed and remanufactured calipers. So, C&L takes a set of stock calipers, pulls them apart, and cleans everything up for you, fitting new seals, new pistons, and all the other associated bits. So these are as fresh as fresh can be, and they will be a direct replacement for your stock calipers, because they are essentially your stock caliper. So, these are the same type of single-piston floating design as your originals, again, because they are essentially the same, just refreshed and better. Now, that means, of course, they are gonna work with factory brake pads and rotors, which means that running costs will be low for you, and it'll be easy to get new pads when you need them. Plus, these come right out of the box already finished in this cool bright red color, for some added protection and a pop of color. So you'll save yourself having to do that part. But the most important part is, at the end of the day, these are a completely refreshed set of calipers. All the seals are new, fresh, premium units, and they're gonna be all sealed up nice and tight, so you don't have to worry about any issues with pressure or leaks. These are inspected, and pressure-tested as well when they leave the factory, so you can be certain that they will work right as soon as you bolt them up. And of course, they should look good for a long time too, because you've got that high-heat red electrostatic finish over top, and they come, again, ready to bolt on, making for a simple installation. We'll talk more about that though in a moment.Pricing for the pair here comes in at about $200, which is a great price, considering the fact that just one of these calipers from Mopar will cost you nearly as much if not more. So, if you want or need new calipers, these are a great way to get essentially a factory-fresh part for a fraction of the cost that you pay at the dealership.Installation gets a 2 out of 3, and the job should take you around three hours to complete. Now, as I said already, these will be a bolt-on replacement for your stock calipers. No modifications are required. However, replacing your calipers will require you to bleed the brake system. So you'll either need a friend to help, or a brake bleeder tool, to get the job done. Either way, though, not a terrible job, just one that's gonna take you some time. With that, let's head on out to the shop, and we'll walk you through the process.Man: For this install, you will need an impact, various ratchets, 11, 13, and 15-millimeter sockets, 10-millimeter wrench, 21-millimeter ratchet wrench, some brake fluid, brake clean, and also, not shown here, is a jack and jack stands and an extra set of feet, to help you pump your brakes. What's up, guys? Today we're gonna be doing some calipers on our Wrangler, so let's get started. All righty, guys. So, we're gonna begin by removing our factory caliper. So, we've got a caliper hanger tool. I'm gonna hang that right up here on our spring. Then we're gonna go ahead and remove our two 13-millimeter caliper mounting bolts, with our 13 mill socket on our ratchet. So, we'll go ahead and get these two bolts off. Now, you wanna crack one loose, like so. Don't take it all the way out yet. Make sure you crack both of them loose before you take one out, because if you have the one out, and you try to take the other one out, the caliper will torque, and pivot on you. Go ahead and get that one out. Take this one. Now, you wanna keep a hand on your caliper as you remove this bolt. And we'll go ahead and pop this off. And we're gonna hang this up on our caliper hanger tool. We're gonna keep that line attached to it for now. And what we're gonna do is go ahead and pop our pads out. They're simply just gonna slide out like so. Set those aside. And once we have that done, we can come in and remove our two 21-millimeter bolts holding our caliper bracket in place. So, we've got a 21-millimeter ratchet wrench here. We'll go ahead and pop these off. Get them both loose here. Once we have them loose, go ahead and run them off. And go ahead and pull this off, and set it aside. And we wanna hang on to our mounting bolts. All righty, guys. So, now we've got our new caliper bracket here. We're gonna go ahead and put that right where our factory one came off. We'll go ahead and reinstall those 21-millimeter bolts, and get it lined up here. Sometimes this part is a little bit tricky. Once you get one started, go ahead and get the other one started. And we'll grab that 21-millimeter ratchet wrench again, and go ahead and tighten this down. And you always wanna refer to your manufacturer torque spec for all of your hardware. Next, we can go ahead and install our new pad slider clips. So, the shorter, little edge there is gonna go to the inside, where the rotor spins, and the bigger spring-looking side is gonna go to the outside. So, we'll go ahead and hook these in, right here. Pop those into place. Go ahead and make sure those seat all the way, just like so. Then we can do the same thing for our outer pad area. Now, we're gonna be reinstalling our original pads here, so they're gonna go right into those slide clips that we just installed, same as the factory ones did. Kinda just pop them into place, just like so. Okay. Now that we have those on, we'll grab our new caliper. Go ahead and line that up. Install our new provided 13-millimeter bolts. Then we'll go ahead and tighten those down with our 13-mill socket again, on our ratchet. All righty, guys. So, now we're about ready to swap our line over to our new caliper, and the first thing we're gonna do is remove this plug here from our new caliper. And we've got our new banjo bolt here, with a copper washer on the head side. We also have another copper washer that's gonna go on the caliper side, on the other side of the block there. So, we've got this ready. We got our other washer. And what we're gonna do is use our 15-mill socket on our impact to pop this factory banjo bolt off. We're gonna pull that line off, and then we're gonna swap it over with our new banjo bolt, to our new caliper. We also have a bucket under here, because you are gonna lose some brake fluid in the process. That's okay. Now that we've got that loose, we'll go ahead, undo this. This is also another reason you wanna hang your caliper, because some fluid's gonna come out of the caliper once we pop that off as well. And you wanna make sure your old copper washers come off. We can pull that banjo bolt right out of there. And we got our new banjo bolt. Remember, that washer's out here. New washer on the other side. And you wanna avoid getting any brake fluid on your actual pads or rotors. We'll go ahead and get this started. Now, once we've got that started, we'll go ahead and tighten this down with our 11-mill socket on our ratchet. Make sure that's nice and tight, and you'll know when it's tight enough because the fluid will stop dripping. Then we'll grab some brake clean, and clean this area up, and make sure we don't have any leakage. Now we can go ahead and remove our old caliper. And we'll grab some brake clean. Clean this area up, and anywhere that might have gotten any brake fluid on it. Definitely don't wanna keep that hanging around. Then, once you've got this process complete on this side, you can go ahead and do the same thing on the other side, then we'll show you how to bleed your brakes. All righty, guys. So, next, we're gonna have to bleed our brakes after installing our new calipers. Now, the first thing you wanna do is come up to your master cylinder reservoir, go ahead and pop this cap off, and you wanna0 make sure your reservoir is topped off with fluid. You also wanna check this again after we bleed our brakes. So, we've got some brake fluid here. We're gonna go ahead and add some in, just to make sure this level is topped off. That'll be good for now. And you do have full and empty indicators, so you wanna monitor them. So, now that we have that done, we'll go ahead and leave this cap off for now, and you wanna reinstall this after bleeding your brakes. So now, we'll go ahead and show you the brake bleeding procedure. All righty, guys. So, now we're down here at the caliper, and we've got our little cover off of our brake bleeder. And what we're gonna do is grab a 10-millimeter wrench, and we've got an extra set of hands, or feet in this case, and we're gonna have our friend here pump up the brakes and hold pressure. So, go ahead and pump them up. After a few pumps, you want them to hold that pressure. Go ahead and hold it. And we'll take our wrench here, crack this bleeder loose. And we wanna get a steady stream, and get all that air out. So, we'll lock it up, tighten it back down, and go ahead and pump them up again. Go ahead and hold it. And we'll do it again. And once you see all those air bubbles come out, we have a nice steady stream, we'll go ahead and do it one more time. Okay. Now we have a nice stream. We'll go ahead and lock that up. And we'll go ahead and put our little cover back on. Then again, you wanna take some brake clean, and spray down any areas that got brake fluid splashed on it. Then you can go ahead and repeat this process on the other side. After that, you can go ahead and double-check your brake fluid level, put your cap back on, and you'll be good to go.All righty, guys. That about wraps up our review and install of our C&L Performance Front Brake Calipers, in Red Finish, for your '07 to '18 Jeep Wrangler JK. Thanks for watching, and as always, for everything Wrangler, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.

Wrong size
The pads themselves were two large by a half inch. Extreme Terrain wouldn't do anything unless I had the original packaging.
