I can steer now!

PSC makes very high quality components and this kit is no exception. I'm running 37x13.50 tires on a full width D60 and the stock steering setup on my '05 LJ was very difficult to turn. The PSC setup with the new box alone (no ram installed at this point) can steer with one finger while standing still. The ram is just the icing on the cake for rock crawling. I did have to clearance the grille shell and radiator mount a bit to get the hoses to fit. This probably would not be necessary if I had a 1" body lift as called for in the instructions.

Hd steering box/gear

Jeep feels so much stronger and stable when turning, and just going down the highway. I was able to hold it up and bolt it in alone but it’s heavy. Have 35’s but will be moving up to 37’s + and have read no bad reviews from others.

It is very heavy. Works great, but believe all the reviews of how much it weighs.

ease of steering

Great product, I love it, I installed the big bore kit then the assist ram. There was one issue with the mounting tabs. It did not allow for enough clearance over the diff cover I was able to adjust the Ram. I did talk to costumer service and they sent me new tabs to weld on

Part is exactly as described. Fit perfectly. It's heavy though make sure you have a 2nd pair of hands when doing the installation.

2009 Wrangler with better road manners

I bought a 2009 Wrangler about 6 months ago. It has a nice lift and brand new 37" tires. Being a used car I understood something would eventually need fixing. This one had the wandering steering wheel syndrome. When I took it in for an alignment the ball joints and tie rod were replaced. That helped a little. I tried installing a Yeti sector shaft brace. This seemed to help until the old steering gearbox blew up and something resembling a milkshake started leaking out at the pitman arm. I installed the PSC gearbox and a new pitman arm along with the Yeti brace. The steering is much better now. The wandering wheel did not go completely away when driving on older roads but the steering is definitely manageable and it doesn't bump steer. It is much better on highways. I can now drive at 75 mph on the freeway without constantly correcting the steering.

Complete kit

The kit is complete and everything went together as expected. I am impressed with the quality of everything from the hoses to the hardware. The gear box is as heavy and awkward as you see in any of the many videos you see. If you have a winch, and have any way of ringing a pully over head it will make the job manageable. It still took two of us, but nobody ended the day with jello arms.
