The OR-Fab full-width front bumper is for those of you that have a 2007 to 2018 JK, that are looking for a heavy duty steel front bumper that's going to add some off-road functionality as well as a different look than that factory plastic bumper did. This is going to be a very simple one out of three wrench completely bolt on installation, and I'm going to show you exactly how to do that in just a second. So I'm going to compare this bumper to a factory bumper when we have them both off the Jeep. And I'll go over a lot of the differences and any similarities that there might be at that time. But what I really want to talk about now is the style of this bumper and how it looks on the Jeep. This actually looks very similar in my opinion, to more of the European style factory front bumper on the Jeep where the corners of the bumper come up to almost meet the factory fender flares. Now if you have a different fender flare on the Jeep, it may not look as seamless, but with a factory or factory style flare, I actually really like this look. They got the lines very close here. There's still a little bit of a gap to break things up so it's not just a solid block of black from the front, but it does work really well with those factory fender flares. This is also going to have, like I said before, some on-road and off-road features that I really like that we'll talk about in just a second, and it is going to be a very well built bumper. This is going to come in at just shy of the $650 mark, which in my opinion, is not going to be a bad price for the functionality that you get and the added protection of a big heavy duty steel bumper over the plastic bumper that comes on your Jeep from the factory. So first, I'm going to show you how to get your factory bumper removed from your Jeep, then we'll compare this one to the factory and then I'll show you exactly how to get this installed. So the first step in this installation is, of course, removing your factory bumper from the Jeep. The first step in that process is going to be unplugging a fog light wiring harness, and that's going to be a little bit different depending on your Jeep, but either way, it's going to be very simple to unplug that. Get that out of the way, that way, you're not going to forget about it later. Then you have a couple of nuts to remove from this side and that side and then we'll be able to just pull the bumper off completely. Now if you have a completely factory Jeep, you're going to have a splash guard on the bottom here and also a frame cover up top. Ours are missing, we've had these Jeeps apart a lot of times and if you're somebody who has done some work on your Jeep, or done some wheeling in your Jeep, you may be missing this splash guard on the bottom as well. So first you're going to have to remove those plastic pieces or at least that splash guard on the bottom to gain access to the rest of the area here to unplug the fog light wiring harness and get rid of the nuts. Again, ours are already gone so we're just going to jump in and attack that fog light wiring harness. Now that we have all the nuts removed off the studs on the bumper, we can simply grab the bumper and remove it from the jeep. So as you can see, there's some pretty big differences between the OR-Fab bumper and the factory plastic front bumper that came on your JK. Overall, the width is going to be very similar but this one is going to be a little bit taller and in completely different shape as you can see. The biggest difference is that that's a plastic bumper and this is a steel bumper. This is definitely a very heavy bumper. This thing is very, very well-built, very solid. If you're worried about weight on the front of your Jeep because you don't want the front end sagging, this is not the bumper to go with. This is going to add a lot of weight up front. As far as features that are similar to your factory front bumper, you can see that this does have holes for those factory fog lights so they're going to transfer right over. That's something I always look for in an aftermarket bumper. You already have the lights, the wiring, the switching, everything is there, why not purchase a bumper that allows you to use those factory lights, and this is bumper will allow that. But other than those factory fog lights, there are not going to be a lot of similarities. This bumper is going to have more off-road ready features than that factory bumper did. Right here you can see it has two clevis mounts, four D-rings and it does come with D-rings. Now the factory bumper does have tow hooks on it but I much prefer a D-ring, especially if you're using a snatch strap or something that can very easily come off of a hook. A D-ring is just a much more secure way of doing a recovery. Speaking of recoveries, this also has a spot right up on top for a winch. So this is going to allow you to mount a winch directly on top of the bumper here. This piece here is going to be a fairlead mount, so you're going to be able to utilize a winch for recovery situations where you cannot do that on the plastic from bumper. The plastic just doesn't have the strength to support a winch. Of course, you can add a winch plate onto that bumper, but with this, no additional hardware needed, everything is there, just bolt up your winch and go.Something else that this bumper has that your factory one of course doesn't, is this overrider here, and this is going to add a little bit of protection, really more style, but it's also going to be a little bit functional in that it has two light mount tabs right up on top. So on top of the factory fog lights, if you do want to run some auxiliary lighting, you can bolt that right up on there as well. So overall, this is going to be an incredibly high quality bumper. It's very, very solid when you compare it to the plastic bumper. Has some more off-road features, so you're going to add protection, style, and functionality. Now let me show you exactly how to get this thing bolted up.Now the first thing you're going to want to do is remove your factory fog lights from your factory bumper and bolt them into your new OR-Fab bumper. In order to do that, it's pretty simple. They're going to be a couple of screws that hold them into place. We're going to zip those screws out and move the fogs and bolt them up using the new hardware. Now we'll bolt those factory fog lights into our OR-Fab bumper using the included hardware. Put a washer over the bolt, put that into the hole and the nut is going to go on the backside here. This is gonna be a little bit difficult to get to the nuts side, but they are gnarled on the one side. So they are designed to hold themselves in place and not turn on you, should make getting them tightened down a little bit easier, and get it finger tight and then put the rest of them in. After the fog lights are tightened down, the next thing is to install your fairlead mount. We're not going to be installing a winch right now, we're just going to be bolting the fairlead mount up. If you were installing a winch, you do that at the same time. So all you need to do is get the mount lined up on the holes in the top of the bumper. Go ahead and put a bolt with a washer on it right down through the top. There are going to be four pieces of hardware that hold this into place. And just like on the fog light mounts, the nuts here are going to be gnarled on the one side, so they're going to want to lock in place. You shouldn't have to hold them on the bottom as you're tightening from the top, but sometimes it helps a little bit at least to get them started. Then we'll tighten that hardware down. I'm going to use a six-millimeter attachment for my three-eights impact, but they do provide you with an Allen key for these hex head bolts as well. Now all you have to do is pick up the bumper, set it over the frame horns, aligning the studs through the factory holes, and then tighten down the included hardware. While we're down here, we're also gonna plug in the factory fog light wiring harness back into those factory fog lights. So if you're looking for a full-width steel bumper with a good number of features built right into it, I would recommend this option from OR-Fab. And you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.

OR-Fab Full Width Bumper
Bought as an "Open Box" item. Other than some scratches and no installation parts, intact and I could have installed it then. Decided to have it powder coated and it turned out fantastic. Went on without a hitch, with a little help from my wife. Took about 1 1/2 to install and the hardest part was getting to a couple of bolts...didn't even need to relocate any parts. Full width IMO, looks great and almost like it should have come from the factory. I only wish I could get a fairlead plate from OR-Fab...I would buy it again.

Great choice!!
Very pleased with this purchase. Wanted a full width bumper without all the stuff for a winch. Came packaged well and fit well also. Had to drill out the frame holes just a little.

Excellent!!!
Install was a breeze… Bumper is fantastic. I don’t have or want a winch but it’s nice that it can be added to this… One thing about this bumper I like over others is it came with a plate holder to mount license plate on the front… Quality product, great price, very pleased customer !

Have 2 People
Gret looking bumper. It's incredibly heavy. My fiance and I struggled to hold the bumper and also line up the bolts to the bracket holes. It took us about 20 minutes to align it enough to start placing the nuts on. Once the bumper dropped into place, the process was smooth. Another difficult part was navigating around the vacuum pump on the driver side of my 2016 Wrangler Sport. We got it, but it took some time. Have patience with this. It does end up looking great!

500 Zombie Bumper (!?!) for Urban Retrograde
Just doing a little prepping for Covid-Z. Fast zombies or slow zombies? That is the question. The OR-Fab Full Width bumper is solid. Welds aren't the prettiest I've seen but they will hold. The eight bumper-stud alignment into the JK frame requires two people and some patience. All studs need to be aligned and inserted simultaneously. Mounting hardware was complete. Shipping box was a bit thrashed but bumper was well wrapped and intact with a few small nicks in the powder coating. There was a bit of powdered rust coating the bumper. No signs of corrosion. Shipping box read "Manufacturer: DV-8 Off Road." Box switch or does DV-8 also make OR-Fab? It had OR-Fab cut into bumper. Can mount a top winch. Comes with bolt-on Fair-lead. Great for mounting a license plate if you are winch-less. The bumper weighs 55 lbs. more than factory (~110 lbs.) Quick shipping! Plenty inter-webs info on install. Factory rake accentuated. Driving characteristics have changed subtly. To level or not to level? Another good question along with what is best approach angle for a zombie horde? Writing my second ZA novel so research is important. Back to fast or slow zombies...

Heavy duty
This is one well-made bumper. Very easy install. Very heavy almost 100 pounds but well worth the money. Love the look of the jeep
