1. Ensure that all pieces are present in your kit. There should be the welded brace; the steering box bracket; four 8mmx1.25x35mm hex bolts; crush sleeve; 7/16”x1 ¼” bolt with nut and washers; large fender washer; and 5/8” x 4” bolt and nut.

2. Locate the hole in the frame that is on the passenger side near the front cross member and bumper. Locate the pitman arm as well.

3. Begin by removing the 4 bolts that surround the pitman arm with the 6mm Hex Key wrench. These do have Loctite on them, and may be difficult to remove. Warning: avoid using heat on these bolts as it may damage the steering box seal.

4. Once removed, slot the gold bracket on the steering box around the pitman arm and line up with the bolt holes. The bracket hole should face the passenger side of the vehicle. Apply a small drop of Loctite to the 8mmx1.25x35mm hex bolts. Install the 4 supplied 8mmx1.25x35mm hex bolts on the bracket into the stock threaded holes. Tighten these with the Hex Key Wrench until snug.

5. Push the 7/8” x 2-1/2” crush sleeve through the hole on the passenger’s side of the frame; be very careful not to drop it into the frame rail. (If dropped inside, a reach magnet can help retrieve it). Place the flat washer on the 5/8” bolt and thread it from the outside of the frame through the crush sleeve.

6. Place the welded flat end of the brace on the bolt and install the 5/8” lock nut on the bolt finger tight for now. Move the brace up to the bracket installed on the steering box and install the 7/16”x1 1/4 “ bolt washers and nut onto the bracket loosely so that everything is in final position.

7. Once this is done, tighten the 5/8” lock nut to 80 foot-pounds of torque using a torque wrench with the 5/16 socket and wrench. Torque the 7/16”x1 1/4 “ bolt to 40 foot-pounds of torque using the 5/8 socket and the 18mm wrench.

8. Congratulations! You have successfully installed the M.O.R.E. Powering Steering Box Brace on your 03-06 Jeep Wrangler. Recheck all the torque after 500 miles and following every oil change thereafter. This should not affect the alignment and center of your steering wheel. If it does, however, an alignment may be needed.
