      Good steps, needs refining

I looked a long time to find something aggressive but sleek. I like clean lines and thought that the hard lines on these steps complimented the JK body well. I had issues with shipping. I received the steps with NO hardware. After emailing customer service, I received the hardware a week later. Install wasn't difficult to install. Read the directions first and layout the hardware. It took about 2 hours with adjustments. I really like the steps. They look great and are sturdy. Footing is good and length/ location of steps is great in my four door. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so my complaint is with some minor details. I wanted something to hide the pinch point under the base of the doors and the under carriage. These steps didn't cover as far up as I thought it would. It does clean it up though. It also seemed a little twisted compared to the body of the jeep. It took a bit of adjusting to get it set right and to get most of the twist/slant out. Overall, I am satisfied with the steps.

These bumpers are no longer made in USA, but they are still solid bumpers.

I normally like to go with made in the USA products, but didn’t have that in my budget for this bumper. I like that they seemed to be a budget made in the USA product, but the manufacturers website didn’t have any claims that they were still were after having been acquired in 2020. When they arrived, the rear bumper had a big “Made in China” on the bottom of the box. The front bumper appeared to be a drop shipped from the manufacturer, and though the quality and hardware seem to be the same it did not have any indications that it was made in USA or made in China. That being said all the other bumpers that I was looking at were also made in China. I decided before I ordered them, that as long as the bumpers were a solid build quality, and in good shape, I would still install them. The Good -Solid quality, steel bumpers -The finish was good, except where the packaging allowed some scraping. -Welds are good, but not amazing. -I do really like the look of these bumpers. -Most of the hardware seem to fit well. -The black painted hardware looks nice, and should decrease the rust of them over time. (but seems like they are likely cheaply made.) -The included skid plate on the front bumper made it a good value. -All bolts had included washers and almost all had split lock washers. -The vacuum pump did need to be removed for installation of the winch plate bolts, but since I don’t have a winch, I was able to replace the vacuum pump into its original location. -Installation of the rear bumper without the wiring, only took about an hour. (Not including the removal of the stock rear bumper.) -Very few 10 mm sockets and wrenches required since those always seem to vanish. The Bad -Instructions are definitely not IKEA quality and are more like the pirates code. (In that it’s just kind of a guideline.) -The only hardware that was missing was the lower bolt where the winch plate connects to the frame. -Some of the bolt plates required the finger dexterity of a spider monkey. (Small magnet on an extendable handle really helped with the plate that holds the nuts for the winch plate, and the skid plate.) -Most of the finish issues were actually on the riser for the hi-lift jack which were inside the box with the hardware. I didn't install these initially but I’m planning on repainting those and accent color, and Swapping the hardware with wing nuts, or something that can be easily added if I'm wanting to take the hi-lift. -Packaging could use some more protection from shipping companies. (the front bumper had small scraping on the bottom due to protruding from the box, likely because it was dragged, and the angle of the bumper pushed through the cardboard, and foam) General notes The powered ratchet was a big help with this installation, there wasn’t enough room for an impact. The front bumper was a really snug fit, particularly the arms for the winch plate were a tight squeeze. I believe this would be very difficult to install with the winch on the bumper. I definitely recommend opening the bumper from the box then putting the bumper on the box prior to lifting up for the installation. No Loctite was included and because there was split ring washers you probably don’t need it, but I decided to go with it anyway. The XT video was a big help for the rear bumper install process, even if it does state that the bumper are made in the USA.

      Great Stubby Bumper.

The instructions could definitely be better. Bumper showed up missing half of the mounting hardware. Instructions listed incorrect sizes for several bolts and were not very detailed. Overall the bumper is very solid and snug fitting. Love the recessed winch plate and optional hi lift jack mounts for the top. The bumper feels premium and even mounts stock fog lights. Some of the bolts are an absolute pain to align and install. But the end results are worth it in my opinion. Love the look and can't wait to install a winch into the front of this.

      easy install

The bumper installation is easier with two people, but one person can do it if he has a way to set it on something close to the right height you can work from one side to the other pretty well you can do it without removing your spare tire just open the tailgate. mine was supposed to come with the light, but it didn’t and I will get that taken care of. I did this install myself with no help and it took about an hour.

      Drop Side Step Bars

My wife and grandchildren had trouble getting in my Rubicon. When I installed the step, it was much easier to get into my Jeep. They look great also, not taking away from the look of my Rubi.

      2022 Willys - TimJ.

      Went on easy enough.

I had to trim the top and bottom of my lisence plate to fit with the light, and I had to mess with the spring clips on the trailer light connector to get it to stay in the hole. Other than that, went on easy, looks good, and seems stronger than the stock plastic.
