The Liberty KJ was developed to replace the ZJ Grand Cherokee and was introduced to the market in May 2001-2002. At one time it was the smallest SUV that Jeep made. One of the key features is that the Liberty has a unibody construction, making it a very solid vehicle. However, not even the rugged KJ can function without regularly maintenance. One of those maintenance chores is to keep the fluid levels in optimal ranges, and to use the right fluids that are recommended for your make/model/year. Depending on the type of Liberty KJ you drive, the coolant, transmission lubricant, transfer case and luge for the front and rear axles can vary.
