I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the XT Graphics Hood Decal, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This decal is available in the matte black you see here. It's also available in a gloss black, silver, a few different versions of a camouflage pattern, and a few different colors of a biohazard logo. This is for those of you who want to make sure that your JK looks a little bit different from all of the other ones that roll off the assembly line. This is a really easy to install and inexpensive mod that has a huge visual impact. I like this hood decal in particular because it's designed from a really high quality vinyl, so it's going to hold up really well over time. Now, even though this is mostly a styling or visual modification, I have heard of some people using these because they get some glare from auxiliary lights off the hood of their Jeep. Whether you're running a 50-inch light bar or some A-pillar lights that don't have a really crisp, clean spot pattern, you can get a little bit of bounce-back from a glossy hood, which can ruin the driver's night vision. Having a matte black decal on the hood can cut down on a little bit of that glare, which can help you see better at night.As I mentioned, I really like this hood decal because it's made of a really high quality vinyl. This is premium cast vinyl that's designed to last up to eight years, even out in the elements. So, you know when you put it on the Jeep, it's going to stay looking great for a good long time. We have cut and tested these over and over again on our Jeeps to ensure that they're going to fit your hood perfectly right out of the box. Something I like about vinyl modifications in general is they do have a really large visual impact on your vehicle and they're permanent if you want them to be. However, if you ever decide to change out the look of your Jeep, you can easily remove this without any permanent modifications.Getting this decal installed on your JK is really easy. The first step is to remove all of the hardware off of the hood. That includes the windshield bumpers, the windshield strap bracket, and the windshield washer nozzles. Once those are removed, you'll want to clean the hood surface really well, and then spray it down with a mixture of soap and water. From there, you can peel the decal off the backing and put it in place. That soap and water mixture is going to allow you to move the decal around to position it exactly where you want it to. Once you have it lined up, you can use the included squeegee wrapped in a soft towel to remove the excess water and soap mixture from underneath the decal. From there, it's as simple as cutting through the decal to expose the holes for all the hardware and replacing the hardware. The whole process shouldn't take you more than a half an hour, and the only tools you'll need are a good cleaner, that soap and water mixture, and a razor knife to make your cuts. When you first see the price of this decal, it may seem a little expensive for what some would call just a sticker. However, when you consider the huge visual impact this has on your Jeep, the high quality material that it's made of that's designed to last up to eight years, and the really precise cut which makes it fit really well, I think this is really reasonably priced for what you get.So, if you're looking to drastically change the look of your Jeep so it doesn't look like every JK rolling down the road, or you're looking to cut down on some hood glare from auxiliary lights, this is an easy to install, really high quality option, all at a really fair price.
