Direct-Fit, OE-Style Replacement. This Ball Joint is manufactured to match the specifications of your Jeep Wrangler CJ. Designed for a fit, finish, and functionality that meets or exceeds that of the OE part, this ball joint is intended to be installed directly in place of the OE part without any modification.

Knurled Ball-Joint Housing. To account for any excess play or widening of the ball joint hole in the steering knuckle, this ball joint is knurled; a knurled finish refers to the grooves on the outside of the ball joint. These “grooves” are actually high spots strategically placed along the body of the ball joint that bite into the oversized hole in the steering knuckle, ensuring a tight and sturdy press fit.

Serviceability. Unlike factory ball joints, these joints have a threaded hole in the base to insert a zerk fitting. This fitting enables you to attach a grease gun and flush out / refill the ball joint boot for maximum lubrication and a long, reliable service life.

Replace A Worn Lower Ball Joint. Ball joints, like any other joint in your Jeep’s suspension, are wear parts. These joints are intentionally replaceable for when they inevitably incur wear and fail. Symptoms of a failing ball joint include an improper, shifting alignment, abnormal tire wear, and a clunking noise emanating from the front wheel when traversing bumps or dips in the road.

Application. This Lower Ball Joint is intended to fit either the right or left side of 1972-1986 Jeep CJ5 and CJ 7 models.
