Before installation, it is suggested that you first clean the mounting area before wiping it down with a clean rag moistened with alcohol or acetone. This is to ensure the adhesive completely sticks to the mounting surface. Also, when installing this trim piece in the cold, it is advised that you first warm the mounting surface using a heat gun or hairdryer. This is because the adhesive works best on warm surfaces.
