Description
Filter Out the Bad. As you drive, the gears in your transmission grind against each other. Over time, this constant friction produces little metal shavings that can get into your transmission fluid. That, coupled with the dirt and debris kicked up by trail driving, can lead to contamination. Your transmission filter is the barrier between all of this debris and your fluid. If your filter is worn or damaged, you need to replace it as quickly as possible. And that’s exactly what you can do with Crown Automotive’s Jeep Wrangler 42RLE Transmission Filter.
Matching Stock Quality. There’s nothing fancy going on with this filter as it is a like-for-like replacement of your stock filter. Made using a mixture of paper, plastic, and metal, it’s tough enough to stay in place during the bumpiest of rides.
Direct Installation. Your new filter installs using your vehicle’s factory hardware and does not require modifications to your vehicle. However, you need a certain level of expertise to both access and replace your transmission’s stock filter.
Variable Cover. With Crown’s variable warranty, you’re protected from manufacturing and material faults for either 1 year or 12,000 miles. This is a limited warranty that has exclusions for damage caused by improper installation or misuse of the filter.
Application. The Jeep Wrangler 42RLE Transmission Filter is designed to fit Jeep Wrangler TJ and JK models built between 2003-2011. It’s compatible with the stock 42RLE transmissions in these vehicles.
Installation Difficulty. Though this is a like-for-like replacement, installation still requires a high degree of mechanical expertise. Expect to spend between 3-4 hours installing this filter.
