Limb risers keep tree limbs and other brush from hitting your windshield when off-roading. They are basically steel cables that go from the front end up to the roof rack. When branches touch the limb risers, they slide up and over your Jeep, instead of smacking it head-on. Another benefit oh having them on your Jeep is to keep snorkels, antennas, and other hardware from getting caught up in the branches and potentially being ripped off. That's basically the long and short of it! As simple as the explanation is, limb risers have saved countless windshields from getting scratched or damaged in the trenches. What some may see as a drawback of installation comes with the need to drill holes with a few kits, but if you're dedicated to keeping you Jeep in good shape, drilling shouldn't be too much of a problem. We've got Smittybilt kits for TJs and JKs and the Cherokee XJ, as well as Steinjager made kits. Most of these kits work with factory and aftermarket hood latches.
