Corrects Speedometer / Odometer. If you have installed tires that are larger or smaller than original equipment tires, or if you have installed a ring and pinion gear set with a different rear gear ratio, Hypertech’s In-line Speedometer Calibrator Module allows you to correct your speedometer and odometer readings. The vehicle’s computer calculates your speed based on the diameter of the stock tires. If you’ve installed taller or shorter tires, or changed the rear gear ratio, the vehicle’s computer doesn’t know how fast your vehicle is actually going. As a result, the speedometer/odometer readings will not be accurate.
Straight Forward Installation. Simply connect the Hypertech In-line Speedometer Calibrator Module to your Windows computer via USB and enter the new tire height and/or rear gear ratio. There are no limitations for increasing tire height or rear gear ratios. Then, disconnect the factory connector to the instrument cluster (behind the dash), snap in the In-line Speedometer Calibrator Module, reconnect the cluster, and you’re done. In a matter of minutes, you can accurately correct your speedometer and odometer readings.
Application. This Hypertech In-Line Speedometer Calibrator is designed to fit 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma models.

Works Great!
This does exactly what it says it does. The software was easy to use, and the installation was straightforward.

The only game in town saved me
I recently upsized my 2022 2” lifted Tacoma TRD-Offroad’s tires and wheels to a 275-70-17. The speedometer was noticeably off (especially at higher speed), odometer off too obviously, mpg (calculated by the truck was wayyy off), and the shift points were off also. I had to do something about it, and after much research, realized a speedo calibrator was the ONLY option - Toyota dealership cannot reprogram your ECM, etc with Techstream. I’m happy to say, that this fixed all my issues 100%. Yes, I paid $250 for the unit and $99 for the cheapest windows laptop I could find (of course I don’t own a PC - damnit), but it literally took me 15 minutes to pull apart my instrument cluster from my dash, program the unit for my new tire size, and then put it all back together. And it works! Flawlessly. Thank you so much for having a solution for the 3rd gen Tacoma. I’m so happy my truck feels like it should again. Just an FYI, the software only went up to 2021 (choose that), even if you have a 2022. They just haven’t updated their site yet.

Must Have Upgrade
If you have large wheels/tires this is a must have! My speedometer was off by a few MPH I noticed after I first went with 37x12.5R20 on my Tundra. The truck would normally cut off at 100mph but afterwards would stop around 89ish plus my MPG’s were really bad! so that’s when I found out about this device which you can install yourself all you gotta do is 1. Download software update from a Microsoft computer 2. Remove your dashboard panel (the one behind your steering wheel), and connect to your dash, plug and play similar to a pedal commander. Made a difference for me!
