Good so far

‘04 jeep wrangler TJ, 4” rough county lift with pitman arm and track bar drop brackets. I had replaced the factory bar due to normal wear and I was having a lot of steering wander. I bought and ended up returning 3 separate aftermarket track bars, moog, master craft, and supreme. They all sucked, and either had play in the bushing or the joint right out of the box. I finally went with the freedom off-road. I initially removed the drop bracket but left the pitman arm drop installed, but the angles were wrong and the bump steer was horrible (my fault, not the bars fault, if you don’t know, the drag link and track bar need to be the same angle roughly). I reinstalled the track bar drop bracket and shortened the length of the bar. Now she drives amazing. No bump steer, no steering wander, no steering slack. So, to answer another question, YES, THIS BAR WILL ADJUST DOWN TO THE EXACT LENGTH OF THE FACTORY TRACK BAR.

long term review

so, initially I was impressed with the track bar, it seemed beefy, was easy to adjust and install. But that's where it ends. Sadly, over the last year, I've had to replace the upper mount TWICE. Both times, it was the wrong size, which lead to more issues requiring replacement of the frame side mount now. ET has been great, but Freedom Offroad Customer service, won't really help much. Further, what they don't mention, is the source their product overseas - and it's all metric threading - so there aren't many off the shelf solutions available on short notice nor are they cost effective. Powder coat held up well - and lower bushing appears to still be serviceable.

adjusts for a 3.5" lift

like others said when you tighten the castle nut the hole for the cotter pin is above the nut. I used 2 12mm flat washers and a nylock nut and torqued to 60 ft lbs the cotter pin goes in just above the nut. Even if it tried to back off (which it won't) it won't hardly move before it hits the cotter pin. It seems to still have enough room for the ball joint end to pivot at pass side tire full droop so not concerned about that. I like that it was easy to adjust and center the body on the axle. I disassembled the adjustment part and put anti seize on the threads then screwed it all back in before mounring it to my jeep.

Sturdy

Overall a definite upgrade. Easy install, not sure from start to finish was even an hour. My only concern is, I cannot tell if it's been greased or not. The boot seems empty.

Works Good.

I haven't put this to the ultimate test but it seems to fit well and does what its suppose to do. I don't plan on beating my Jeep so I'm sure it will perform just fine.

Didn’t come with install kit then castle nut stripped with no force at all had to put washers under not to get quarter pin to go threw the nut

Love the adjustability without having to remove it

Took longer to remove the old one. Fit perfect, adjusted out and bolted on. Love that i can adjust without removing an end. highly recommend

Wrong tie rod end for TJ

Beautifully built. Absolutely love the bar and adjustable end is awesome but the frame side rod end is the wrong size for my TJ so I’m searching for the correct one. See pic. Pulls all the way through allowing no movement of the joint and castellation of nut is 1/4in below key hole. Saw other reviewers said the same thing. Wish I had read them before purchase.

Great upgrade

This is much beefier than stock track bar. I did not like the way the stock one looked after I did my 3.25 in lift. I wanted something better than drilling the hole. Only issue there is no hardware for the axle side bracket. So I had to go buy a bolt and nut that would fit the sleeve. Its an M10 1.25 80mm. Other than that it looks great.
