Reduces Exposed Rope. Factor 55's Flat Splicer for Synthetic Winch Lines; Red is the perfect addition to your 1966-2024 Jeep CJ and Wrangler since it was made with off-road enthusiasts in mind. This impressive product is the world's first splice on folding winch rope shackle mount thimble and it is designed to be stowed with the groove side facing the winch to perfectly protect the end of your Jeep's winch rope from damaging UV light, impacts, and abrasion. Specifically created for synthetic winch lines, this splicer can be folded flat against winch fairleads to minimize frontal protrusion, which means it doesn't compromise your heavy-duty Jeep's approach angle for the demanding off-road adventures you take on.
Heavy-Duty Construction. Designed and crafted in America for guaranteed reliability and excellence in materials and craftsmanship, this flat splicer is only 1.75 inches thick, yet the aluminum build boasts long-lasting durability. Finished with a durable mil-spec, hard anodized red coat for style and strength, the splicer and its integrated EPDM rubber pads will continue to be effective for a long time to come. The splicer accommodates the pin and bow sections of common 0.75-inch shackles and the pin ends of larger 7/8-inch shackles. The spliced rope can also exit the middle of the part and then be routed 90 degrees along the inner radius.
Installation. Installing this splicer requires synthetic rope splicing knowledge. Either the locking brummel splice or long bury splice is recommended. The installation takes about 1 hour from start to finish.
