Solid, well built, will look great anywhere…
Great little power unit for charging devices. My 3 kids seem to each have 3 or 4 that all need to be juiced up at the same time. I’ve purchased one and actually buying a second one today for additional ports for the kids in the backseat. One small gripe, well 2 actually. First, the small installation kit has a couple screws, 2 lock washers and 2 nuts. But, the small machine screws that came with the charger are countersunk heads. That’s great, except the screw holes aren’t countersunk at all so when they’re in tight the head of the screw sticks up about 1/32” and looks like it’s leaning to one side. For most people, no biggie. For me, it’s a biggie. So I made a perfect countersink bore using my countersink drill bit set. Screws are now perfect!! Second issue: the unit itself has a rectangular box which contains the connection points for wires to go to usb sockets and let’s all those super important electrons flow to our dead devices. Cleanly molded with the rectangular box are 2 mounting tabs along the front of the unit. This is the face of what shows once it’s installed. One little problem though, the top and bottom of the charger is completely flush meaning that while you can cut a nice hole somewhere to slide it in and secure with the tabs but it’s going to look pretty crappy because you’ll likely have a void of some kind at the top and the bottom. My gap was so bad I was able to see wiring and all kinds of stuff in behind it that you’re usually not supposed to see. I had to purchase a small black sheet of 1/8” acrylic and fabricate a backing plate/trim ring to slide the charger into and then attach the whole ball of wax using my perfectly flush countersunk screws, which I had to replace with longer ones from my workshop because with the acrylic trim ring plus the thickness of the dash and the mounting tabs you’re getting on to around 5/8” thick. So, in summary, buy this charger. It is a minimalistic essentials only device. I abhor car chargers that have 16 functions, 5 different led styles and plays a little time for me every time I hit a pothole and it wiggle loose for just a half a second. Thankfully this ain’t one of those chargers. But, upon install you’re going to either need to have a plan to address the unsightly gap at the top and bottom, or, be the type of person that really doesn’t care about silly things like wonky machine screw and trim lips that should have been built in with the unit from the beginning and you’ll install it, use it and love it, because it’s a great charger. Now if you’ll excuse me, one of my headlights is slightly brighter than the other and I’ve cleared my entire day to diagnosing and hopefully correcting the problem. Let the fun begin!!!

It's not as easy as it was written about.
OK - biggest complaint is the power sourcing. The kit calls for splicing into the cigarette plug for power. I recommend running two wires (hot and ground) directly to the battery by drilling a small hole in the firewall and running the wires from the unit to the battery.. The wires are so small going to the cigarette plug and the space is entirely too small to get to effectively. My friend and I spent entirely too much time attempting to use the tiny plugs designed to tap into the wires going to the plug. My friend installs commercial radios as his business and had plenty to say about the procedure. Perhaps if Toyota used wire an inch longer it would have been way easier.
