How to Install RT Off-Road Rock Crawler Front Bumper (87-06 Wrangler YJ & TJ) on your Jeep Wrangler

Installation Time

2 hours

Tools Required
  • Torx T55 Socket
  • Ratchet
  • Torque Wrench
  • Tape Measure
  • Dead Blow Hammer or Rubber Mallet

1. Remove the OEM front bumper by removing two T55 Torx socket head bolts (1/2” X 1 3/8”) from under the front bumper at the frame rail.


2. Remove four OEM T55 Torx socket head bolts (1/2” X 2 3/8”) and OEM tow hook from the top of the front bumper.


3. Retain OEM bolts and tow hooks for reuse.


4. Slide new RT Off-Road Rock Crawler Front Bumper onto front frame.  

5. Align the bolt holes and insert the two T55 Torx socket head bolts (1/2” X 1 3/8”) from under the front bumper at the frame rail. Do not tighten these bolts at this time.



6. Using a tape measure and a soft hammer or mallet, center bumper on frame.


7. Place the tow hook spacers on the frame.


8. Install the tow hooks and four T55 Torx socket head bolts (1/2” X 2 3/8”) into the top of the front bumper.


9. Torque all four top T55 bolts and two bottom T55 bolts to OE specifications.



Congratulations, you have installed your new RT Off-Road Rock Crawler Front Bumper.
