Best Gas Tank Protection for the Money!
Through the years the factory skid had become so dented it did not hold a full tank of fuel and the gage did not work correctly. With this installed I'm back to a full tank and it takes rocks fantastic!

Solid Skid Plate
I got this to replace the old rusted out stock skid plate on my jk. This one seems very solid. It fits well and secures the gas tank well. It adds a few pounds to the jeep though. I do have to include that this is designed to work with Clayton Offroad’s crossmember and transfer case skid plate. It will mount to the stock crossmember but you have to purchase the special bracket from Clayton. Also, it comes bare metal and requires being primed and painted. In other words it’s not simply a drop in part. Once installed, I can say that it seems very stout and was easy to install once I got it painted and prepped. I used an etching primer then a high build and finished it with a truck bed liner and seemed to be a good finish for it. Id say it does what I need it to do and adds a little bit of protection to the gas tank above the stock one.

Nice replacement
Nice replacement for my rotted out tank skid plate. The weld quality is outstanding and the machining of the plates that make it up is also excellent. I was able to install it without removing my gas tank. If I have any criticism, it would be that the edges of the plates at the top of the skid plate are quite sharp. It would be nice if the edges were broken (radiused) so that they don't scrape the tank.
