Tuning ProComm's Antenna

All antennas are factory tuned. The following instructions are for ensuring optimal performance and may not be necessary for every antenna.

For best performance, the SWR readings on Channel 1 and Channel 40 should be equal with the lowest reading on Channel 20.

*If the SWR reading is higher on Channel 40 than Channel 1, the antenna needs to be tuned. Remove the cap and a small amount of the heat shrink to expose the last few turns of the wire. Trim 1 turn of the wire. Replace the cap and test the SWR. Repeat the process 1 turn at a time until you have the correct SWR readings.

**If the SWR reading is higher on Channel 1 than Channel 40, the antenna needs to be tuned. Remove the cap and a small amount of the heat shrink to expose the last few turns of the wire. Lift the last 2 turns with a spacing of about 1/8". Replace the cap and test the SWR. Repeat the process adjusting the spacing until you have the correct SWR reading.
