If you’re looking for a rear shock absorber upgrade for your Wrangler JK outfitted with a 3.50 to 5-inch long arm lift kit then this Bilstein B8 5160 Series Rear Shock for 3.50 to 5-Inch Long Arm Lift is just what you need. This shock’s remote reservoir monotube gas-charged configuration will work with your Jeep’s long-arm lift to deliver immediate damping performance that won’t fade even through rapid cycling. The result is accurate handling performance through the roughest off-road terrain. Furthermore, this rear damper is also equipped with velocity-sensitive digressive valving, producing a firm yet smooth highway ride.
Tough Build Quality. This rear shock’s 46mm shock body is machined from premium alloy, offering exceptional durability and effective heat dissipation, both of which provide excellent performance. Likewise, its piston rod is precision-crafted from chrome-hardened alloy, making it extremely capable of taking the knocks of the trails. Rounding out its construction is a high-quality zinc-plating that’s then finished in a clear topcoat for maximum corrosion protection.
Convenient Install Procedure. Installing this rear shock is a relatively convenient procedure as it’s designed to install into your Jeep’s stock rear damper location. No extra drilling or other modifications to your vehicle is needed. What’s more, installation is completed using just basic hand tools.

Third set
This is our third set of Bilstein shocks between different vehicles we own. We live off a dirt road and have acreage we drive around on. But we also commute to a metro area for work. Factory shocks have never cut it for us. Our 2017 Wrangler JKU Sahara has a 3/4" front leveling kit from Rough Country (Item J10355). I checked with Extreme Terrain support before ordering because I could not decide between the 5100 series or the 4600 series based on our leveling kit. Typically, 5100's are for lift/level and 4600's are for stock. As it turns out, the 4600 series were fine. That said, the front shocks took a little more "negotiating" to get enough top bolt threads to show before I could get the nut on. I just used a c-clamp to compress it a bit. That was the only thing hard about it. Everything else was easy. Typically shock replacement stuff. Installation took about 90 minutes to get the front shocks on. It took about 10 minutes to change the rear shocks. I have 5100 series on my '18 Silverado and our old '15 Grand Cherokee. We are now running these 4600 series on our 2017 JKU and could not be happier!

Great shocks but none of the nuts and bushing were in the box. Had to go to an auto parts store to get new bushings.

What a great company I ordered Fox shocks because I thought I had a 3 inch lift on my Jeep Wrangler they did not look right when I installed the first one called the company they helped me through to find these ones instead went on nice and easy have not used them yet off-road but seem to work very nicely the company was great helping me through with a refund for the fox shocks everything went nice and smooth great company will deal with them again

tight fit
Was a little bit of a challenge because the lower brackets were too snug. Figured out a way to widen them slightly to install. Well worth that little bit of pain to install. Love the ride and in a couple of weeks will test with the roof top tent. I'm not expecting any issues.
