Choosing the best Jeep soft top can be a daunting task. With so many brands, styles, colors, and choices, it can make your head ache. While we like to offer the best variety we can, sometimes too many choices can make it tough to know exactly where to start. So how do you know which is the best Jeep soft top? We review the most popular sellers and some fan favorites in this run down.

Of course, our customers have been buying, installing, and testing Jeep soft tops since we opened our doors way back in the early 1990’s. That means they’ve gotten pretty good at knowing which tops work best and offer the best for their hard earned money.

Best Soft Top for Jeep JK Wranglers

We might as well bust the big bull out of the gate and step up with some of the Bestop goodies for the JKs. One of the most popular tops is the Bestop Trektop NX Soft Top (part 56823-35) This top features tinted side and rear windows, and a black diamond design. But that’s not all. It has removable windows and a sunrider sunroof. The back end has that “fastback” slope look to it that Jeep folks seem to like the most. When you say Trektop, that just about says it all, as it’s one of the most popular tops for Jeeps in the world. If you have an Unlimited JK Jeep, you’ll also want to check out the Bestop Supertop NX with tinted rear and side windows (Part 54823-17). It features black twill material and has removable glass windows as well.

If you’re looking for a factory soft top, you want the MOPAR Sunrider Design Soft Top Kit  (part 82213652-M ) It’s made from a black premium acrylic fabric. This is the popular choice for replacing a factory top with the same kind of part. You know it will fit perfectly and give you the same high quality as the O.E. top did. No guesswork, no modifications, it installs just like the factory top.

If you have a 2-door JK Jeep Wrangler, you want to use the MOPAR Sunrider Design Soft Top Kit (Part 82209746). This great top features two quick-release header latches to raise and lower it with minimal hassle. Zip-out windows are included, and the heavy duty seams, with an exclusive door frame system, minimizes wind noise and water leaks.

Of course, the Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited models have their own top, the MOPAR Sunrider Soft Top Kit with privacy tinted windows (part 82212605). This soft top has all the great features of the 2-door version.

If you’re feeling the urge to hit some trails soon in good weather, check out the Smittybilt Bowless Combo Soft Top with tinted windows (part SB-9083235). Featuring black diamond material, it also has zip out windows, so you can get some clean mountain air in seconds. Then zip them back up once you have to drag yourself back to a smog filled civilization.

Best Soft Top for Jeep TJ Wrangler

Smittybilt has been coming on strong in recent years with their replacement soft top offerings. If you’re rockin’ a Jeep TJ Wrangler, they’ve got the top you need. The Smittybilt Replacement Soft Top features new upper doors tinted side and rear windows (Part SB-9970235), and is made from a black diamond material. This top is designed to replace your old factory top, so it’s generally a swap to go from an old moldy top to this brand spanking new Smittybilt breath of fresh air!

If you’d rather have a canvas soft top for your TJ, you want the Smittybilt Premium OEM Replacement Canvas Soft Top with tinted windows (Part SB-9974235). Of course, the windows zip out on this style too, so you’re ready to enjoy life with your TJ in the woods, out fishing, or taking the kayak to the lake.

You may also want to check out this Rampage Trail Top Frameless Soft Top Kit with tinted windows  (Part 109535). This unique Rampage design allows for larger side windows, and gives you improved visibility with both removable side, and rear windows, that quickly convert the soft top into an open air Safari top.

Looking to save a few dollars, but don’t want to give up features? You want the Pavement Ends Flip Top, Complete Soft Top, Fits Full Steel Doors, Black Denim  (part 44527-15 ). With the easy flip top function, you can go from a sealed inside cab to open air in seconds.  This kit includes the soft top, soft top deck, windows, and even the hardware. Just what you need to ease your wallet strain, but still get a great soft top for your TJ Wrangler.

Best Soft Top for Jeep YJ Wrangler

Not everyone knows Rampage makes soft tops, but the word must be out, because we sell plenty of them!

One of the most popular tops is the Rampage Trail Top with tinted windows (Part 109435) which is a frameless soft top kit with door skins and surrounds, and has the black diamond design. It installs right over the original equipment factory roll bar for a snug fit without the need for additional bows or support hardware. Best Soft Top for Jeep CJ Series

Don’t let the age of the Jeep CJ fool you. We carry plenty of soft tops for those.

One of the most popular is the Pavement Ends Flip Top (Part 44523-15). It’s not just a full soft top, but has a flip-back feature that turns it into a sunroof in seconds. While it takes a few minutes to install the hardware, once that’s done, you get a good quality top on your CJ (or YJ) for those crispy North Dakota sub zero mornings. Then in the Spring, you can flip the top back and grab some mountain air!
