Ryan: The Barricade locking fuel door in black is for those of you that have a 2007 to 2018 JK that are looking to change up the look of the side of your Jeep, as well as adding some protection. So, from the factory, the Jeep doesn't come with any sort of fuel door. The fuel filler cap is exposed, and it sort of adds to that rough-and-tumble off-road Safari-like styling to the Jeep. But if you wanna smooth out the side of the Jeep by adding a fuel door, this is gonna be a great choice and it is going to be locking. Some people find the lock to be a little bit cumbersome. Every time you are filling your tank, you have to remember to bring the keys with you. But if you're in an area where you have some concerns about somebody siphoning out your fuel, adding a locking cap like this is going to give you a little bit of additional peace of mind. This is going to be an easy install. I'm gonna stick with a one out of three wrench-installation here. You have to put a couple of screws into the plastic trim ring around that fuel filler cap, but they're on the inside, so if you ever were to remove this, you're really never going to see those holes. So, again, one out of three wrenches and we'll talk a little bit more about that in just a second. So, there are gonna be a bunch of different fuel doors on the market for your JK. Some are going to be locking, some are non-locking. Some have these rivets. Some say Jeep on them. They come in different colors, different finishes. A lot of different choices out there. A lot of them are gonna be pretty similarly priced, which this one is, it falls right in the same range as all the other ones. And it really comes down to aesthetically and functionally what you're looking for. If you like the rivets, the gloss finish, and the locking, I think this is gonna be a good deal. So, as for the construction, this is gonna be pretty simple. It's going to be an aluminum fuel door. It does have the rivets around the outside. It has a gloss black finish on it, and of course this one is locking. This has a couple of tabs on the back side of it, and that's where you put the screws through to attach this onto the Jeep. There are some other versions out there that have come out more recently that replace the entire surround around that filler neck, that don't require any drilling at all. Those ones are usually right around the same price, maybe a little bit more expensive for that feature. But if you're looking to not drill any holes, maybe take a look at that option. This one, again, is going to require you to drill a couple holes in that piece of plastic. Now, this hinge is very, very simple. Once you unlock this and you open it, there is just a little bit of pressure from the hinge that kinda keeps the door from flipping open or closed. But there's no spring, and there's also no magnet or anything there to keep the door closed, because, of course, this is locking. So, it's designed for you to turn that key and lock it, and that's what's going to keep it from springing open. But all these things make the design a little bit simpler, which do help to keep the cost down. Now, we'll have somebody from the install team show you how you get this installed. Man: We're gonna begin by removing our factory gas cap. Now, this'll just give us a few extra inches of space to work in there, so we're not tripping over it. Just go ahead and twist your cap off, like you're removing it to fill it with fuel. You wanna reach back here, put the connecting cable, and just pop it right out. You might wanna do this in a ventilated area, seeing as how your fuel cap is now off the vehicle. You're gonna get some fumes. Okay, now, we're ready to install our cap. What we're gonna do is go ahead and open it, making sure it's unlocked. Line it up nice and straight. Take one of our screws, line it up. We're gonna take our screw gun. Go ahead and just get it started. Now that our locking gas cap is installed, we're gonna go ahead and put our fuel cap back in. Just take your safety cord, push it back into the hole till you hear a click, and just tighten down your fuel cap.
