Pre-Installation notes: Eye protection recommended due to falling dirt and debris.
Installation Notes: The steps are heavy and highly recommend using jack stands to support steps during installation or a good friend to give you a hand.
This installation was done on a Rubicon, so removal of stock rails was required prior installing the new steps.
a. Remove (6) 10mm Nuts on inside of rail
Remove (3) 13mm
c. After Stock bolts are remove pull the stock rail directly away from the body being careful to not scratch or make contact with the body of the Jeep.
a. Locate the 3 body mounts, each body mount will have 2 16mm nuts on either side of the body mount. Remove the (6) 16mm Nuts.
b. Place new steps over large body mount washers at a 30 degree angle and lift upward to align the bolt holes in the Rock Rails to the bolts on either side of the body mounts. This is where a friend is handy.
c. Loosely reinstall (6) Factory 16mm nuts previously removed and position the steps front to rear. Once new steps are aligned tighten 16mm nuts to 40 ft/lbs
3. Go Out and get them dirty
4. After 3-4 days double check the bolts and make sure they have maintained the 40 ft/lbs
