Merideth: If you want some better protection and clearance for the front end of your 2021 or newer Bronco, this Barricade HD Stubby Front Bumper will be a great choice. Now, this will be great for the off-roader who is looking for a compact bumper to add utility and be able to take a hit when needed. Now, this won't just be for off-road adventurers, but this bumper will serve well to anybody daily driving their Bronco who just wants a heavy-duty appearance and the ability to add lighting if you need some extra visibility at night. As you can see, this will feature a compact design, allowing a lot of room on each side for better clearance off-road while boasting a more aggressive aesthetic compared to stock. Now, the front bumper will also have welded D-ring mounts on either side to help with any recovery situations that you may get yourself into. Now, on top of the bumper, this will also feature an overrider hoop that is bolt-on for some additional grille protection. This is also gonna have cutouts for auxiliary lighting and light mounting options on top of the bull bar. You're also going to get those adaptive cruise control features and parking sensor cutouts to retain the factory-like drivability. Now, this will be made of a thick steel plate construction, being durable and able to take whatever is thrown at it. Now, on top of the steel, this will also have a two-stage epoxy pre-coating and a high-grade textured black powder coat finish to protect from any corrosion. The bumper will also be completely bolt-on, so no modifications or drilling is required. This will be on the more affordable side when it comes to a front bumper, coming in at roughly $650. Now, compared to other options, this is a bit more simplistic, offering basic needs when it comes to off-road utility and a smaller, more compact design. Now, other options on the page that are a little pricier will usually consist of a full-width design, added accessories, a winch plate, and more. Now, if you want to just keep it simple and affordable while still getting a solid bumper for protection, utility, and, of course, that aggressive look, then this is gonna be a great pick.Install will be a pretty simple one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about two hours to get the job done with some basic hand tools. Now, at this point, we're gonna head over to the shop and check out a detailed breakdown of the install and what that looks like step by step. So, that's gonna wrap it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into it.Man: Tools required for this install include an impact gun, a ratchet, a clip remover tool, a pair of scissors or diagonal cutters, an 8 and 13-millimeter ratcheting wrench, 10, 13, and 16-millimeter wrench, a couple of different size extensions, a bunch of zip ties, the included 4 and 5-millimeter Allen wrenches, a 4 and 5-millimeter Allen bit, a T40 Torx bit, a swivel adapter, and an 8, 10, 13, 15, 16, and 18-millimeter sockets. What's up, guys? Today, we're installing a front bumper on our Bronco, so let's get started. So, our first step is to remove our skid plate. Now, we have four bolts. The front two we need to fully remove. The back two we can just loosen and then slide this whole skid plate forward. So, we'll grab a 15-millimeter socket to take these out.Next, we can come to our tow hooks, and we have four push clips that we need to pop out, and then we can pop off this cover. So, I got a clip remover tool. Pop these off. And then we can do that same thing on the other side. Next, we need to remove our three 15-millimeter bolts on each side. Now, I'm gonna leave one in just hand-tight until we have a buddy and we're ready to take this off because we do have a harness on the other side that we can't access until we get the bumper slouched forward a little bit. So, I'll take my 15-millimeter socket and get these out. And then we can do that same thing on the other side. Next, we can disconnect our bumper harness. Now, the connector is gonna be right above the bumper on the driver's side. We have a tab on the front that we can press in and disconnect. So, now we're ready to remove our front bumper. I've got myself a buddy. We're gonna remove the last bolt that's holding it in on each side, and then we can remove our bumper. Next, we can remove our four 8-millimeter bolts that hold in our shutter assembly. So, we'll grab an 8-millimeter socket to get these out. Now, for the two up top, we're gonna get those out with an 8-millimeter ratcheting wrench. And then with those removed, we can pull back on our shutter assembly, and then we just have a harness up top and a bunch of clips that we need to disconnect to fully remove it. So, now we can remove our connector. We have a red tab that we need to pry up on. And then we can press in on our tab to remove it. And then we just have a bunch of clips that we can pop out with a clip remover tool.Next, we can come to the backside of our frame horns. We have a plastic nut on each side that holds in our three-nut plate. So, we need to remove both of these nuts, and then we can remove our plate. And then we'll do that same thing on the other side. So, now, if you have a bumper with no parking sensors, you're done with the uninstall at this point. If you do have the parking sensors, now comes the fun part of basically taking every bolt out of this bumper. So, we're gonna start with our 13-millimeter bolts and our 10-millimeter bolt in the middle to remove this inner bracket. Then we'll do the same thing on the other side and move on. So, now we can take our 13-millimeter socket to get these 4 bolts out. And then we can do that same thing on the other side. So, now we've spun our bumper around. Our next step is to remove this inner bracket. We have three bolts here and then one bolt over here. Once again, we're gonna be using that T40 Torx bit to take these out. So, now we've spun our bumper back around again, and we have three more T40 bolts that we need to remove. So, now that our inner piece is loose, we can go ahead and pop out all of these push clips. Now, this is gonna be the same on each side. Besides, on this side, we have our harness that's gonna go to our body. So, we have an extra four clips on the outside. So, we'll grab a clip remover tool and pop these out. So, now we've got this folded over and rotated it once again. We need to pop out these three clips, and then we can disconnect the connectors on our parking sensors. Now, on our parking sensors, we're just gonna push in on the tab and wiggle those out of place. And then to remove our parking sensors, we can just pry back on these tabs and wiggle them out. And then we can do that same thing on the other side. Now, the last thing we need to do is pop off this bottom plate to remove our harness. We have two more T40 bolts here and three more on the other side going into these U-clips. So, we'll pop those out, pop these three clips out, and then we can remove our harness. Once again, we've got T40 Torx bit. And then we can flip it over and get the three bolts on the other side. So, now we can grab this plate and flip it over. We have our three clips we need to pop out, and then that'll free our harness. And now coming over just a couple of inches from that bracket, we just have one more clip on each side. So, once again, with the clip remover tool, we'll just pop that out, and we can fully remove our harness. So, our first step to installing our bumper is to install our outer and inner brackets around our frame horn. Now, they're both labeled with a D or a P for driver or passenger. So, once we figure that out, we can just slide these in. Then we can take our long bolt with a flat washer and feed it through the hole. And then, on the other side, we're gonna be using a flat washer, a lock washer, and a nut. And then we can tighten that down with a 16-millimeter socket and a 16-millimeter wrench. So, now I'm gonna use a 16-millimeter socket on our bolt side and a 16-millimeter wrench on our nut side and tighten this down. And then we can do that same thing on the other side.Next, we can reinstall our shutter assembly. So, we'll take our connector, slide it up, and then we can click that down into place and push our red tab to lock it in. And then we can reconnect all of our clips. And then we'll lay it up top into our holes and reinstall our hardware. So, now we can reinstall our two factory bolts on each side. We'll take that same 8-millimeter ratcheting wrench on the top and our 8-millimeter socket on the bottom. And then we'll do that same thing on the other side. So, now we can begin to install our parking sensors into our new bumper. Now, if you don't have parking sensors, we have caps that will just go on the outside and press in. However, since we do have parking sensors, we're gonna be reinstalling them. So, we need to pop this rubber boot off, and then we're gonna be replacing it with a foam washer. And then we can just pop that down into the hole. And then we'll be using a foam spacer and our cap. And we can just press that down on top. And then we'll do that same thing over here. And then we can repeat that same process on the other side.Next, we can reinstall our bumper harness. So, we have a hole on this side where we can feed it through. And then we can plug our parking sensor connector back into our parking sensor. We'll slide that in until it clicks. And then we'll do the same thing for our next one. And at this point, we can repeat the same process on the other side. And then we're gonna zip-tie this up and make it look clean once we're ready to install our bumper. So, next, we can install our mesh grille into the space. Now, if you have a light bar, you can mount that instead of this. But since we don't have a light bar with this kit, we're just gonna be using this. So, we're gonna mount it to our brackets first and then get it mounted into our bumper. So, we have our bolt with a flat washer that's gonna be going through, and then another flat washer, a lock washer, and a nut on the other side. And we'll get that nice and flattened out and use a 13-millimeter socket and wrench to tighten it down. And then we can do that same thing on the other side. So, now we can slide our grille into place. We'll get it lined up on both sides. And then we're gonna be taking that same hardware. So, we'll get our bolt with the washer and then get another flat washer, lock washer, and nut. And then we can tighten that down using a 13-millimeter wrench and 13-millimeter ratcheting wrench. And then we can repeat that same process on the other side. Next, we can install our smaller mesh grilles. These are just gonna slide right in. And then we're gonna be using our button head bolts with the captured washer and lock washer. And threading those in from the inside and then putting our nut on the outside. And then we can tighten those down with a 4-millimeter Allen bit and a 10-millimeter wrench. And then we can do that same thing on the other side.Next, we can install our license plate bracket. Now, these two holes are gonna line up with these two holes. The bracket's gonna be going on the outside. And then we have our button head bolt. We're gonna be putting a flat washer on that and putting that in through the front. And then we'll put another flat washer on the backside and put our nut. Slide our bolts through the holes, and then line them up. Put our second flat washer and our lock nut on the back. Same thing on the other side. And then we can tighten that down using the included Allen wrench on our bolt side and a 10-millimeter socket on our nut side.Next, we can install our plastic cover on our center section here. So, we're gonna be using our button head bolts. We'll put those through the front. And then, on the backside, we'll grab a flat washer, a lock washer, and a nut. And then we'll do that same thing for the rest of our holes. And then, once again, we're gonna be using that included Allen wrench on the bolt side and a 10-millimeter socket on our nut side. Next, we can install our top bar. It's gonna be going through these two holes up here. From the top, we're gonna be installing our longer button head bolt with a lock washer and a flat washer. And then we have a flange nut for the underside. And then we can take a 13-millimeter wrench and a 5-millimeter Allen bit to tighten these down. Now, for our inside bolt, since we have less room, we're gonna be using the included 5-millimeter Allen wrench and a 13-millimeter ratcheting wrench. And we can do that same thing on the other side.Next, we can install our mounting studs as well as our retainer clips. We'll press that in, and then these clips we can just spin on. And then we'll do that same thing on the other side. So, now we can go back and zip-tie our harness up out of the way and then install our front bumper. So, we have a nice little slot up here that we can use. And then once we have our zip tie installed, we can take a pair of scissors or diagonal cutters and cut off the excess. And I'm gonna put one more down here since we have a hole that we can use. And then we can do that same thing on the other side. So, now we're ready to install our front bumper. So, the first thing we're gonna have to do is plug in our bumper harness into our connector up here. And then we'll line up those studs that we installed into our frame horns. And, on the backside, we're gonna be installing a flat washer, a lock washer, and a nut. So, we'll lift our bumper on, get those hand-tight, and then we'll come back and fully tighten them down. So, now we can plug in our bumper harness. We'll just push it in until we hear that click, and then we can lift our bumper up onto our frame horns. So, now we can lift our bumper up and line up our studs. So, now we can go around and tighten down all of our bolts to hold the bumper in place. So, for this outside one, I'm using an 18-millimeter socket with a swivel adapter and a long extension to tighten that down. So, that'll wrap up this review and install of the Barricade HD Stubby Front Bumper for your 2021 and newer Bronco. Thank you for watching. And, for all things Bronco, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
