      Description

      Pneumatically Actuated Rear Locking Differential. Locking differentials are a fantastic addition to any off-road rig unless you happen to drive your Tacoma on the street. The downsides of running a locking or spool rear end on the street are quickly realized, leading to driveability issues while turning and excessive tire wear. ARB's Toyota 8.40-Inch Air Locker Differential is an ingenious and innovative differential lock that's pneumatically actuated by an onboard air compressor, nylon air lines, and a dashboard-mounted switch. Air lockers allow your Tacoma's differential to operate as a fully open diff on the street, and a full locker on the trail, providing the best of both worlds. 

      Improve Off-Road Performance. Most vehicles, including your Tacoma, come equipped with an open differential from the factory. Open Differentials allow both wheels to rotate independently, aiding in turning and parking where the outer wheel has more distance to cover than the inner in the same amount of time. While this functionality is ideal for street driving, it negatively impacts off-road performance by diverting traction to the wheels. ARB air lockers address this issue, sending 100% power to both wheels at all times, allowing you to conquer even the most challenging obstacles. 

      Requires Onboard Air Source. ARB air locker differentials require the installation of an onboard air compressor in conjunction with the locker to send an air source to actuate the locker's internal lock pins.  

      Warranty. A 5-year warranty protects this product against manufacturing defects. 

      Application. This ARB Toyota 8.40-Inch Rear Air Locker Differential fits all 2005-2015 Toyota Tacomas.
