2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Recall

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Recall

As always, we like to keep you up to date on any Jeep recall or issues. Maybe one day there won't be any to report, but till then, we flag them here for you. The FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) has issued a recall for 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokees. These are very specific ones, made from August 8, through to August 16, 2016. On those affected vehicles, the rear tow hook  (or " tow eye") bracket may be loose. If you inspect the tow bracket and find that it's loose, the bracket may detach itself while you're driving. Meaning, it could cause a road hazard for you and other drivers. If the bracket detaches while the Grand Cherokee is in a towing or recovery situation, this can cause a loss of control of the vehicle. Both possible situations are a serious safety risk. Chrysler / Jeep will be notifying Owners and local dealerships will inspect and confirm that the bolts that hold the bracket are properly tightened (free of charge). The recall is expected to begin on November 6, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S73 We try to keep up on recalls for you, and here are some recent ones in case you missed them:   What do you think about the recalls? Have you had any on your Jeep?
