Methodology
We analyzed 7,968 of the top posts and comments from the following four subreddits: r/Jeep, r/JeepDIY, r/JeepWrangler, and r/Wrangler. We created a list of common Jeep mod terms and then performed frequency analysis to explore the most commonly mentioned mods in these online communities. Only keywords with 10 or more occurrences were included. We then determined the average frequency per 10,000 subscribers for each subreddit analyzed.
We used the VADER sentiment analysis tool from NLTK to determine sentiment scores. Scores range from -1 to 1, with -1 being the most negative, 1 being the most positive, and 0 being neutral. For sentiment analysis, only keywords that appeared in at least 10 posts or comments were included. We also used Pinterest Predicts to gain insights on 2024 Pinterest trends.
